   Lovely steaks. We each had them cooked differently: rare, medium rare and medium. They all came out perfect in each case. However, the food went cold very quickly and the plates weren't very hot at all. It would have been nice to have had some proper chips as opposed to the wedges we were given. The chips were meant to be tripled cooked, but they weren't particularly crispy due to them still being in their skins. The salad which came with the meat wasn't very generous; it was just a bit of cress, some onion, which was a bit tough, and a small shrivelled up tomato. The music choice was terrible, not suitable for dining and a bit distracting.

   I went with a friend for her birthday for Sunday lunch. We had the crackling pork belly although there wasn't any crackling, just fat. Plenty of meat and vegetables so couldn't fault the portion sizes. It was a shame the cauliflower cheese was smothered in a mustard sauce. Why? Call it cauliflower mustard cheese for those who don't like mustard ( both of us). The waitress was efficient and friendly and as it was a birthday celebration we had a complimentary drink. Nice touch. We will be back.

   The Long store is a really great restaurant. We went for Sunday lunch and it was fab. The food choices are not huge but the quality is superb. I had the lentil roast, (not my favourite roast as a veggie) apart from not liking the lentil roast it's self, the other components of the meal were fantastic. Very fresh, well cooked and incredibly tasty. My husband chose the roast beef. He always likes to score his meals out if 10, to my utter surprise, he gave it a 10! He couldn't fault a single element of the meal. The ambiance of the restaurant was very pleasant alrhough the music was a bit too loud for our taste. The staff were fantastic, they are so friendly and great servers, very attentive and happy to serve.

   We'd chosen a busy time of the week to celebrate a birthday - 7.30 on a Friday evening - and both floors of the restaurant were full. However, we were seated quickly, our waitress dealt with us quickly; she was confident and communicative, ran through the specials and left the board so we could remind ourselves, and was back to take orders as soon as we were ready. Duck breast and the scallops from the specials board were excellent, as was a ribeye steak and the fig and goat's cheese. It was foolish to order dessert too but we managed a cheese plate and a tiramisu between 3 of us. We were conscientiously informed before the bottle had been opened that the Malbec was not the wine on the wine list but we were happy to stick with it. And then stuck with it for a second bottle. Very good food and efficient but charming service.

    Superb impromptu date night with my hubby and the food was absolutely delicious!!! 10/10 Waitresses were so lovely too. All in all a really great experience and we will be back. Literally best steaks but all food was fab.
