A traditional pub serving contemporary English food in the heart of Fitzrovia. The Lore is composed of The Pub on the ground floor, The Kitchen on the first floor and Private room with bar on the top floor.

All of our food is freshly prepared by Head Chef Michal Kaszuba and his brigade in the Lore kitchen on the first floor. Our menus have been created especially to reflect the seasons, when ingredients are at their very best.
Our legendary Sunday roast is slow-cooked with delicious trimmings.

THE PUB
A copper and pewter topped bar serving a range of beers, including our very own Gritchie brews, premium spirits, cocktails and selected wines. The walls are adorned with eclectic and original artwork.

THE KITCHEN
Open plan but still intimate. Experience the sight and sound of our open kitchen with the Chefs cooking on our bespoke, charcoal fuelled oven and char-grill.

THE PRIVATE ROOM
A wonderful private room with private bar on its own floor.

Wasn’t blown away by this place but was tasty enough! When they say the steak comes with leaves, they literally mean a garnish so definitely order a side of two to go with it. Service was quite slow due to a large private party, we were offered a complimentary but would have been nice not to have been lied to about the reason being that our big steak took a long time to cook. Would possibly try again for a Sunday roast, as this is what they’re more famous for.

Fabulous and attentive - unfortunately they had run out of Fremantle a DPD we asked for 2 small glasses of Prosecco instead but they gave and charged us for large ones. Not a problem but annoying.

Another lovely time at The Lore of the Land! Food was surprising as the last time, absolutely love the venison tartare, and the cod collar might not sit well with many but we enjoyed it very much! I loved the buckwheat risotto, every taste is subtle, loved it! Thank you to Christian who looked after us well, if only we could get a reservation that suits our time looking after the grandchildren, we'll be dining there more often! Will keep trying!

Service was fantastic but food was a bit disappointing. Too long waiting between starters and main, tastes were not well combined together. Fish was dry as if it was reheated and it is cod, which is generally a juicy fish. Ambiance was beautiful.

Staff were lovely and the service was quick. Amazing interior - loved every detail. Food was very good overall but the steak was ordered rare but arrived medium. The dining room was very noisy on a Thursday evening. Overall would recommend and would come back though
