A casual and charming pub with beer at its heart! Set in the beautiful village of Old Knebworth, North Hertfordshire, just on the edge of the historic Knebworth Estate, surrounded by wonderful walks and cycle routes.

Our new menu showcases the best of local seasonal produce, all freshly prepared on site. Micheal Kirby the new head chef, classically trained, offers a contemporary take on pub classic dishes.
Book ahead for Sunday lunch as it is always popular.

Delicious Sunday Roast - definitely the best one locally that ive had! This was followed by a lovely selection of desserts on the menu. The sticky toffee pudding was fabulous! Excellent and friendly service.

We had a lovely lunch, with an excellent nut roast, but the potatoes were a little tough. It was quite late in the day so maybe this is understandable. The room is very nice and warm on a cold day. Our service was excellent , the girl was helpful and very welcoming and cheerful. Over all a very good experience and I hope to be back soon .

Had the Roast Pork Sunday lunch. It was very tasty, well cooked and served promptly. The issue was that both meals were lukewarm at best. I think the issue was that the food was initially at the correct temperature, but the plates were cold. This allowed the food to cool off really quickly and by the time it arrived at the table it was as described. The pub was very busy and staff were under pressure to keep meals delivered, hence not saying anything at the time. It still was enjoyable but would have preferred the meal at a better temperature.

We have just had our first visit to The Lytton Arms and we could not speak anymore highly of the experience. We had the roast and it was absolutely delicious. We were way too full for pudding but after seeing the menu we couldn’t resist, we’re so glad we did as the cheesecake and mousse were to die for. The pub had such a homely welcoming vibe and the staff were so attentive and polite. We had a lovely chat with the manager John and could see he puts his heart and soul into what he does and it pays off. We will 100% be recommending this pub and returning! Thank you!

One of the best country pubs in Hertfordshire. As per usual the meal was excellent, I’d recommend the lamb.

Great food as always, took some friends who had the lamb shank sharing dish, plenty for them and they said it was delicious. Partners chicken arrived slightly after the other meals because chef wasn’t happy with the first one (I like that they don’t send out food if it’s not right). Communication good from Fran and Danielle.

Very warming atmosphere with goo food and good service. The roast was exceptional with lamb shoulder, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and cauliflower cheese. Lovely gravy on the side. Well worth 5/5
