Our ethos is to bring you elevated traditional pub food embracing catch of the day, local meats seasonal vegetables to create daily specials aside from our running menu.

We pride ourselves on serving you homemade, fresh offerings, with a warm friendly greeting.

We visited the Maltsters for a family celebration for my birthday. The staff were friendly and helpful, I can’t tolerate artificial sweeteners and the staff taking our drinks orders were brilliant in finding something suitable for me. We had the carvery, and the choice of meats and vegetables was excellent. Everything was nicely cooked and there was something to meet all of our favourites. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and look forward to visiting again

Confusion over the booking as we had telephoned to change the online booking, which was confirmed by open table email, however the staff called us to ask why we hadn't arrived. Then we were asked to arrive asap. We were expecting the pub to be busy and they would do their best to fit us in, however there was plenty of space. The staff were very welcoming and helpful getting our wheelchair user in to the pub, which we had been told was accessible, but small steps in situ. The main disappointment was once we had ordered drinks, the two dishes out of five choices were sold out. It was 6.40 on a Saturday night!!! We had fish and chips and ham egg and chips, which although cooked well at £19 each was not great value for money We won't be going back

Good selection of meat and vegetables. Where we were sat was a little cramped, felt it could have done with at least 1 table less. Though I understand that they need to get as many covers as possible? Table next to us had a large dog with them that took a lot of controlling, meaning the dog was near to me while I was eating. Which was a bit off putting.

Wonderful staff and perfect meal and drinks. Dog friendly and welcoming. Lindsay was charming and polite. Will visit again.

New ownership (18 months) and really aiming to take it upmarket without losing the rustic charm. We were lucky it was sunny and what can be nicer than dining alfresco in the front sun trap. A little on the pricey side but was excellent food. Friendly staff.

There was a very good choice of meats 4 in total and a good selection of vegetables . Also there was a good selection of stuffings and sauces. There was a choice of meals being small medium or large the large gave one the option of having all 4 meats on offer. this in my opinion too much. a smaller choice and a slightly lower cost would be better. The chef who was responsible for carving was very friendly and accommodating all done with a smile and good humour. Would definitely visit again.

Had a long weekend down in North Cornwall last weekend and booked a table fairly last minute at the Maltsters Arms based on the reviews/rating on Trip Advisor. we weren't disappointed. Food was very good (both had crab cakes, one whole lemon sole, one beef short rib), was plentiful and reasonable vale for money and the service was both friendly and efficient. The pub was reasonably quiet but the bar was warm and friendly (although we were sat on our own in the "dining" part of the pub) and the hosts certainly made every effort to ensure we were comfortable and happy. Would definitely recommend

We had a lovely meal . Staff were vere attentive and their recommendations good. our only negative was the very noisy dog in the bar area.
