   My wife and I went to Matheson for the valentines day set menu and it was absolutely horrible. I never have given a review but I felt like this needs to be said. The noise level was very high as entering into the restaurant. For a high end restaurant, you would expect less noise - it felt more like walking into a BJ Brewhouse during Super Bowl Sunday. The service to get a table was delayed. Our table ended up not being ready until 30 minutes later, so we went to the bar to have a drink. The only upside of the entire experience btw was the hostess gave us a wine card (because of the 30 minute table delay) so we could get wine from the wine wall for free - which was enough for 2 small glasses of wine while we waited for our table. The bar service was horrible - they didn't pay attention after many requests to get their help. We asked to get a card for the wine wall but the young lady rudely said we had to go see the wine guy over at the other side. So, I asked him and he seemed genuinely annoyed with asking if we could get more money on the card to get an actual full glass of wine. The card machine to put money on the card kept failing after 6 tries. After it finally succeeded, the wine that we wanted was out - and he (the wine guy) couldn't refill it because they were out (yet another disappointment). Next we were brought to our table - the table service felt like Denny's. The young lady who set our table was rushed and sloppily put our plate and silverware quickly on the table. Finally, about 1 hour later we got our first course - which was way too salty. Then 30 minutes after that the second course - also way too salty. Every single course (even the dessert) was SALTY! In addition, It took 30 minutes between each course and it was getting close to midnight. We asked our waiter if we could just get the remaining courses faster because it was getting late. Overall, horrible experience for a valentines dinner that cost over $400.

   We love going to the Matheson! The food is always imaginative and delicious. It ain't cheap, but I think you get what you pay for. We had a prix fixe menu and the portions were generous and there were more courses than we would have expected. We went home stuffed and satisfied! Our server Zadie was the best - very personable, knowledgable and attentive.

   The Matheson came highly recommended, so I was disappointed when my husband and I arrived on time for dinner Saturday and the host tried to seat us at the counter when I'd requested a standard table on the Mezzanine level. They were unable to accommodate that request, which was fine, but they then put us at a table in the rear of the first floor near the stairs with a lot of foot traffic. This was a birthday dinner, but overall, nothing felt special. Our waiter was excellent, knowledgeable, and attentive, but unfortunately, the food was perfunctory. We will not return.

   I chose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary as it looked awesome and it was highly recommended. It definitely lived up to the expectation. Love the location, the food, and the service. We waiting for a bit at the bar while our table was ready and immediately engaged in conversation with other folks who told us how amazing the restaurant is. For dinner, we shared the filet mignon and the pasta. The filet was excellent, the pasta was good but not memorable. I enjoyed the cucumber salad and the bone marrow biscuit (yum!). Folks told us to order the bone marrow but we opted for the biscuit. Maybe next time we'll try it.

   Truly a wonderful culinary experience! We felt privileged to get a chef counter seat. They were even thoughtful enough to provide a birthday card and discreet dessert surprise. The pasta tasting menu was perfect meal! Thank you so much to the entire staff for making my birthday celebration so special!

   Such an awesome place, food was excellent, the wine pairing was out of this world and the staff were so friendly I feel like I was dining at a friend's house, but the friends were the superhero of chefs and waiters. Me and my fiance had just got engaged and it was also my fiancé's birthday so they made the occasion so memorable. It was so beautiful my fiance had the hardest time holding back tears because it was so amazing. Loved every minute of being here.
