   Worst experience, poor service, waited two hours for our food. They should have been better prepared for a busy Valentine’s Day. I would totally avoid this place!!!!

   Food was good, we ate from both Indian and non-Indian menu. Ambience was great. Service was of concern. I am not calling it poor because staff was friendly and they really tried their best. However, their level of knowledge about the menu and training seemed inadequate. Orders were not very accurately brought, service was slow, and even the check was wrong two times. I would still recommend the place and hope that the server training gets better over the next few months

   Went for Valentine’s Day. When I booked the reservation it said nothing about a fixed menu. So we assumed we would get the whole menu to choose from. (Other places let you know if a menu is fixed before booking). Service was subpar. Took 30 minutes to get our drinks and appetizers came before our drinks. Food was decent. Then we waited an hour after finished eating our entree waiting for desert (that was apart of the fixed menu). No one came to check in on us. Got to the point where we just said don’t bring it out.

   Mauryas has been one of our favorite restaurants, so we were looking forward to a the special Valentines’ Day dinner. Started out nicely - red rose, glass of champagne for each of us, but otherwise, disappointing. It was chilly in the dining area, so small portable heaters on the floor….did not make any sense given the size of the dining area and the high ceilings! Suggested improvement: turn the heat on about an hour before you open for dining. Our appetizers were decent, but the timing of the meals was awful. My chicken makhani was served, but we waited and waited for my husband’s meal. Our server eventually took my meal back, so we had to wait even longer. The excuse: the kitchen was backed up. Unacceptable response - why accept reservations? The restaurant is clearly understaffed and the staff was undoubtedly overwhelmed.

   The staff were very accommodating and kind. It was a very nice place but was very cold, possibly because of the weather conditions in New Jersey at this time. The food was plated very nicely and was tasty and but was a little overpriced which the protein portion was somewhat small. (5 chucks of chicken with a lot of sauce for $35 with no sides. Add sides and it was $42 for 5 chucks of chicken, butter sauce and rice). It was an ok experience, but for the prices and sizes and food, I would likely not return.

    It is a highly overpriced meal for the quantity and taste. The chicken entrees are in the $40 range. Drinks are at NYC prices. Atmosphere looks more corporate like rather than fine dining.
