Dine in the AA 2 Rosette Linen Fold Panelled Restaurant, where you can enjoy the ambience of the large restaurant, the cosiness of The Dr Syn Dining Room or the privacy of the Boardroom for your evening meal, lunch and breakfast.

Head Chef Drew King is focused on using quality, seasonal, local ingredients and cooking them perfectly. He has a broad range of experience having worked in Michelin Star restaurants. and is able to adapt to the requirements of the guest and the occasion.

Please note dogs are not allowed in the Restaurant. Bookings are for the Restaurant only. We do not reserve for The Bar and outside seating areas.

Our best restaurant meal for many years. Varied menu, including several items we haven’t found recently. Canapés, fresh bread rolls and flavoured butters include in basic price. Wide range of draught beers (very unusual in an up-market restaurant). Excellent service without being too invasive. Very tempting dessert menu but couldn’t manage the after the first two courses. Overall, a memorable experience, for which we thank you all.

Went to the Mermaid Inn for our 28th anniversary and the food,the service, the staff and the building were all absolutely fantastic, its like taking a step back in time when you enter this fabulous 600yr old building and our overall experience as first time visitors couldn't have been better. We shall definitely be returning.

Quaint and full of character, this quirky establishment is alive with character and historical charm. Food was excellent and reasonably priced (we chose from the 3 course set lunch menu). Quality ingredients and deliciousness in equal measure. Can highly recommend. We will be back!

Having got married last week, we have come to Rye to enjoy a short stay honeymoon, staying as we are at Jeakes House hotel. And we felt it necessary, of its history, to experience The Mermaid Inn hotel/restaurant for its food. And we were neither let down or disappointed. The food was just stunning. It was an experience that would just automatically have you deciding to return.

Delicious, beautifully prepared food in a beautiful location. I feel like I want to applaud every dish, from the amuse bouches to the petit fours.
