Made to feel very welcome. Lovely table in quiet area of dining space. Good choice of food - sweet potato curry was delicious. Good glass of Malbec. Excellent cheese board. Enjoyable evening after local walk in the countryside

What a great little pub. The food was wonderful and extremely good value. Service excellent and friendly. We are not locals but if we were I would choose the Merrie Lion every time.

The Merrie Lion is our local and we often eat and drink there when family and friends visit. Consistently friendly, professional, relaxed, comfortable and well cooked and presented fresh food. Good variety of wines, gins, beers and lagers. You will always have a friendly welcome here.

We were looking for a place for a Sunday roast whilst travelling home from the midlands and found this gem. Lovely country pub with delicious food and very welcoming and friendly staff, we will definitely be adding this one to our list to revisit!!

We met friends for lunch here as it was half way between us. It was midweek and very quiet. The food was all very good although there were no healthier options for pudding. Service was also very good with friendly and helpful staff.

Our “ always to go too” pub when in the area . Food always good , great choice , attentive staff . Sunday roast was perfect , roast lamb and better roast potatoes than mine . Love this place very much
