Great setting, wish they’d have banquette seating on the side to give a warm feel. Wish menu had a bit more selection. And WISH, they’d bring back Baked Alaska!!! They used to make it many years ago, and it was delicious.

When I’m fortunate enough to find myself in NYC on business I make time to visit the Met museum; this is the second time I’ve had lunch solos in the Met dining room, and it is cemented as a tradition I’ll continue. The staff are second to none: I was welcomed warmly and treated with friendly, knowledgeable and prompt service throughout the meal. The menu changes on occasion and I love to see what has inspired the chef; today I enjoyed a delicious Bibb Lettuce & Chicory Salad with mashed avocado, radish and a delightful , sherry vinaigrette. The salad was beautiful, and perfectly dressed and seasoned. I also chose a “raw” dish: the yellowfin tuna in ponzu sauce, which was a feast for the eyes. Service was impeccable; my waiter Michael was helpful in choosing dishes I would enjoy & he and the team gracefully set and reset my table between courses, while filling my water and ensuring I could simply relax & enjoy the beautiful view of the park. Thank you for a truly delicious meal in an incredible setting with a a wonderful buzz of energy from fellow museum lovers. I look forward to joining you again when I’m next in town!

The food and our waiter were very good, but the staff clears plates so aggressively that I had to ask a number of times to please let me keep my food and drink. This is the second time we’ve dined there and I could barely hold onto my dinner and cocktail. In fact, the server actually unplated my ketchup and remaining fries and took the charger! The dining room itself is somewhat sterile in design. The Met won’t redesign the space easily but it sure could train the servers!

I’ve written lots of reviews for Open Table and all have been quite positive. I cannot praise this restaurant or meal, however. Food was just OK: portion size was strange—one member of our party got an enormous serving while the other two of us got such tiny portions that we believed the kitchen had decided to split its last serving between us (we’d each ordered the bass). The main issue, however, was service: the food took almost an hour to come out and the server largely ignored us. A lackluster meal that took so long we missed the exhibit we’d really come to see.

One of my favorite places to take a friend for lunch. I love to sit by the window if possible. Food is pricey but delicious. Staff are super friendly.

An absolute gem in the heart of the Met! We have eaten here several times, and once again the restaurant came through with flying colors! Butternut squash soup, hummus with tiny fresh vegetables, and two beautiful entrees were superb. We love eating here, and try to do so whenever we are in NYC.
