Modern Diner. Global Fare. Delicious Fun. This is The Mockingbird. Led by talented culinary duo executive chef / partner Brian Riggenbach and front-of-house extraordinaire / partner Mikey Corona, The Mockingbird offers a menu of comfort classics with a global twist and an ambiance of art deco diner whimsy. Walls are covered in beautiful custom-made wallpaper, painted tin tiles on the ceiling, windows open to two patios as weather allows and a larger-than-life mirrored bird sculpture overlooking the dining room. And then there’s the food and drink! Munch on a Mockingburger or Mac N Cheese (aka Feeling Grate!) while sipping an Old-Fashioned-ish or a Punchin’ Bag (ask about it – they are famous!). We also love hosting group events! We have a private dining room, an upstairs dining room and an enclosed patio, all perfect for bridal showers and bachelorette parties plus business lunches and corporate dinners.                                                                                                       Server was very unpleasant and mia most of the time. Our table had spinach dip ( dip was good but chips were stale), beet salad ( it was so so), grilled Brie (decent), hanger steak ( to much sauce and sides were not good), spare rib ( rib was good but rice and Brussels sprouts had zero flavor except pieces of garlic), fried chicken ( it was the best but KFC is better and I don’t like KFC). Paid 400 for a meal and the food at any fast food would have been better!

This seemed to be a theme as neither of my two cups of coffee were hot either. Not sure I would make the drive to eat here a second time.

                                                                                                      Ordered the surf and turf, and it came out completely overcooked. Fish, steak, rice, everything. When we brought this up, the waiter volunteered to have them remake it, only to bring out a (tiny) replacement steak, and not an entire replacement dish. They also only offered a discount on the surf and turf, instead of comping the entire dish. The service was good, though hamstrung by management and a poor kitchen.
