   Great staff and liquor selection. Does not feel commercial, which I really enjoy. Definite a great date bar, and to try unique whiskeys, with knowledgeable and serviceable staff.

   We’ve enjoyed our time! Dining table to cigar room. Felt private and was an enjoyable experience.

   This past weekend, I visited one of my favorite spots in Central Texas, Best, whiskey, and cigar lounge that I know of The Monarch Stag   I had a great time myself and two of my really good friends. Went there to celebrate one of my buddies finding out he’s having a brand new baby boy pretty soon.  as always, the food was amazing. The music was awesome, and the drinks were top-notch.  our server who I believe is New there to take care of us her name was Kylar  And we also got assisted by a server who’s been there for a while I believe her name is Grace. She’s absolutely awesome as well.   All around this is a spot I go to almost every single week and have such a great experience there they truly treat you like family. I saw the owners there, Derek and Sheree and anytime you see them. They just make you feel like family to anyone reading this please go there have an amazing time whether it’s a business meeting a night out by yourself just to have a whiskey a cigar or if you’re just out with some friends, I highly recommend this place The general manager Josh was working that night. As well. He always comes by and make sure that everyone is having a great time.

   I was not impressed with this high end restaurant. Nowhere on the Open Table site did it say there would be a 1 1/2 hour time limit for dining on Valentine’s Day. We were told that upon our arrival which I found to be very off-putting. “Customers are more than welcome to sit at our bar after dinner.” Of course you are welcome to sit and spend an exorbitant amount for a poor “pour.” We were greeted right away by our server who asked if she could take our drink order. Not having a chance to look at the wine list and cocktail menu, we asked for a minute. She came back right away which was a good sign. BUT she hounded us to place our food order; back at our table every minute. AND our table…. it was obviously placed right in front of the door just for that crowded evening and it was freezing that night. Plus the A/C kept turning on. So on to food order. We opted out of the price-fixed menu and ordered a salad, steaks and a side. The steaks came out quickly but no salads. A glass of wine on the house was offered instead. At least that part was handled correctly. I’m not sure if I would recommend this restaurant or even go back again. I should mention the prices are so high because it is located at The Star in Frisco.

   Definitely a Valentine’s Day to remember. The appetizers were delicious and grace made our night even better with her amazing service. Highly recommend for any occasion. We’re already planning to go back soon.

   First the bad: Our waitress (R) was incredible inattentive. 30 minutes or longer between table check-ins. Even before they got busy. And when we did get service, she would drop off drinks without a word, never asking if we needed anything else, so we'd have to wait another 20-30 minutes to get another order in, and then wait to get those drinks. She was so bad that I had to chat with the manager afterwards (Josh?), and he was drunk! I'm sure he doesn't even remember our conversation. (The two managers spent most of their time and the end of the bar drinking with regulars, never once checking on the floor.) Their "specialty" old fashioned was not great, definitely not worth $25 a pop. Now the good: They have an EXCELLENT scotch and whiskey selection, at reasonable prices. The steak was cooked properly, and seasoned well. Overall the food was quite good. A little pricey for what it was, but about right for that area of town. Now the great: The live music (Hudsy) is a freestyle (but not rap) guitarist and singer, and was amazing! The fire performer and aerialist was also incredible. So... it's cool place with a nice vibe and decent drinks and great selection. A bit pricey (our foursome was $600+, but we stayed a while) and trendy. Worth it? Maybe.

   Loved our date at Monarch Stag! Server was cute and attentive. Drink and apps were great. Loved the experience, but wish it was a bit less expensive.

    Adorable place for the date. It was my Christmas gift for my hubby to visit Monarch Stag. He was happy and liked everything. Absolutely must visit place for the people who values high quality service. We got great booth by the wall with an excellent view. Cocktails, food, atmosphere, prices, entertainment, service are peerless. We both enjoyed a lot. Highly recommended.
