Our restaurant is located at the bottom of Victoria Street in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town, just a few steps from the historic Royal Mile. While enjoying the best mussels, oysters and steaks that Scotland has to offer, you can catch a glimpse of Edinburgh Castle from our window.
Our menu features classic seafood and steak favourites with seasonal Scottish specialties: fresh oysters, kilo pots of steamed mussels, shellfish platters and delicious matured Scotch beef steaks. Very busy on a Tuesday night. We had the Christmas menu at £50. Quite expensive but the choices available were good value for all three courses. A free oyster each was a nice touch to start. Service pretty good for a busy night.

You will not be disappointed with your meal at Mussel & Steak. The complimentary oyster was a lovely touch and very different. I had the lobster and it was amazing. The staff were all excellent and lovely with it.

The staff were welcoming and friendly, the restaurant was cosy and inviting and the food was exceptional. We had complementary oysters which were delicious and then I had Cullen Skint soup which was the best soup I’ve ever had it had so much fish in it and was so creamy, followed by the surf and turf, the steak was cooked perfectly and the mussels were delicious - the portions sizes were huge which was a bonus. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and visit again if we go back to Edinburgh

First visit fior us. Unfortunately there was a table of very loud people next to us which made it difficult to hear each other but the food and service was excellent. Loved the complimentary oyster, not tried before! We would go again if we return to Edinburgh in the future.
