The Ox Barn is a 56-seater destination restaurant under the direction of Head Chef, Charlie Hibbert. Rooted in a passion for the local land, food and entertaining, the carefully curated menus are farm-based and plant-inspired. His team and the gardeners at Thyme work together to select and grow the fruits, vegetables and herbs used to create his Modern British Countryside fare.

The nineteenth century former oxen house is the newest addition to the family of meticulously restored farm buildings. A state-of-the-art piece of agricultural architecture at its conception, Caryn Hibbert worked meticulously to preserve the soaring archways and original Cotswold stone rubble walls, to now house a modern, dining destination - including a contemporary bar and seven and a half metre Charvet open kitchen - to allow for an authentic, heritage-rich dining experience, enabled by today’s best culinary technologies.

                Menu very limited and generally overpriced, no atmosphere unfortunately. House rose £75.00! Very underwhelming unfortunately.

                The wine list was not very inspiring and ridiculously expensive .. why???? Please don’t tell be about import charges and ‘ that’s what wine costs these days ‘ you could source some reasonably priced wines that are way more inspiring than the ones you had plus the one we wanted you had run out of .. again why??? If you’re down to the last few bottles re order before you tell a customer we don’t have that !!! The food was good though truthfully we weren’t blown away !! However the walnut and orange cake was great ..

                A lovely evening as always. Great setting, food, and service. However, for the price the portion of gnocchi was small.

                Warm welcoming with attentive and knowledgeable staff. Our seasonal Rhubarb cocktails were superb. The Steak Tartare was out of this world, the best ive had in a very long time. My friends Oysters seemed as if they had just come from the sea (i tried one).. Our main courses were equally superb. Succulent Middle White Pork and Monkfish. The vegetables had clearly come from their garden that day and were worth the visit alone. Away from the fantastic food, drink and service we found the ambience and decor to be carefully and beautifully orchestrated. The Barn itself is magnificent, beautiful beams and perfect lighting. Someone has clearly put in a lot of effort and love to this stunning property.. I couldn't recommend this Restaurant highly enough and will certainly be returning.
