   My friend and I had a lovely Valentine Day lunch at the Park Bistro. However our experience was colored by the disconcerting reception of the hostess at check in. She seemed confused about where to seat us. I shared that I had made a reservation for inside. The hostess said that the main dining room was getting a little crowded and that we would be sitting very close to others in the dining room. She then suggested that we might enjoy being outside. She offered for us to look at the outdoor space, which only had two people seated there. She then offered seating in the bar area, which felt crowded and dark. We then asked could we see the seating in the main dining room. The main dining room was not full and seating there was very comfortable for us. There were at least three tables in the main dining room that were never in use during our two hour visit, from 1:00 a 3:00. While we enjoyed our food and the ambiance of the main dining room, the initial reception left us a little disappointed with our experience. I must however compliment the wait staff, they were very attentive and we enjoyed our food. This was my second time visiting this restaurant. My first experience was in the main dining room and I had a great time with girlfriends.

   The menu was excellent and the food superb. Nice ambience, but the host and sever were rushed and impersonal (especially while ordering…)

   We always enjoy the Lafayette Park Hotel and the park bistro and bar. My sister and I had a lovely lunch of Campari and soda Caesar salad and the always delicious chicken pita. It was a rainy day and it made the day so much more cheerful.

   The dining room was incredibly bright. The bar didn't seem as bright, but the dinging room was giving late night college cafeteria.

   I always enjoy The Park Bistro & Bar. Unfortunately, even after making a reservation I couldn’t get a table in the bar. I was offered the patio, on a cold, rainy, blustery night. I have no idea why I was even offered. I asked if I could be seated in the dining room, and the hostess said yes, let me get a table set up for one. She was gone at least 5 minutes, and there were other patrons lining up behind me as well. She finally returned and led me to the dining room. It was virtually empty, one larger party and a table with a couple. I was seated and waited another five minutes until a waitress arrived. She asked if I wanted a cocktail, and I order a Manhattan. She asked if I wanted to order my entree, and I did. A bowl of soup and the entree. While I was waiting for my Manhattan, the soup was served, along with no spoon. The Manhattan arrived and I told the waitress that I would have preferred to have my Manhattan prior to dinner service. I finished my Manhattan, and my entree immediately was served. My entree was definitely good, but unfortunately was lukewarm. I wanted a glass of wine with my entree, but there was nobody in the dining room to order from, and I have already eaten about a third of my entree while waiting for my waitress to reappear. A server finally appeared bringing a dish to the table next to me and I asked her to please send my waitress. After a few minutes the waitress finally arrived and took my wine order. So, I do think that the Park Bistro and Bar has quality cocktails and food, the service (at least this time) was unattentive and disconnected. At this price point the quality of service should be better.

   I’ve never experienced a waiter as rude as we had last night. From raising her voice at us when we asked questions to interrupting us..let alone her tone—unbelievable! We waited over 30 min for our entree to come out and we never saw the manager to come around to check in or apologize for the inconvenience. Food was mediocre for the price point. Won’t be back.

    The food is good and good value but there was only one server for the entire restaurant on a Saturday and it was full. No service for food in the bar area tables. With a reservation I still waited almost 30 minutes for a table for four. Drink service then took another 20 min once we sat down. Food was another long wait. Not the waiters fault but the restaurant.
