An elegant refined, a la carte restaurant in the heart of Covent Garden, The Petersham is a culinary oasis in a fast-paced urban environment.
During spring and summer months, tables flow out on to Floral Court, giving diners the opportunity to eat and drink al fresco.
Respecting the Slow Food philosophy of Good, Clean and Fair, the menu offers simple, seasonal and sustainable food with a focus on quality ingredients and Italian flavours. Suppliers have been carefully selected during food buying trips, with family owned and run Haye Farm supplying poultry, eggs and organic fruit and vegetables to all Petersham Nurseries restaurants. Drawing inspiration from Boglione’s Richmond family home, Petersham House, the interiors demonstrate a charming elegance.

I am sorry to write a poor review when we were expecting so much from The Petersham. I know Valentine’s Day is not the day to go out for dinner anywhere… so I should have known better. They were overwhelmed. So, we were willing to wait patiently and politely for each course to arrive. I am sure, on other days, the food could be much better, but for Valentine’s Day I would say it was only fair. The biggest problem for me is that the menu advertised and sent via Email said £120 wine flight. The same menu was on the table on the night. When asked if we wanted this we said yes. What we didn’t realise was that that was just for the paired wine and that the menu was another £120. That was not written anywhere or discussed with us by the waiters. It wasn’t in the confirmation email either. I feel that we were stupid not to double check, but I also feel slightly misled by The Petersham. I notice on their other menus for other days the cost of food and paired wine prices are obvious. It just wasn’t for the Valentine’s Menu. Come on, Petersham. You can do better. £500 for two people wine and food is outrageous. Especially when the food is at best, fair. I have contacted them directly by email and eagerly awaiting a response. Tracy

I had high expectations for a romantic Valentine’s dinner at Petersham Nurseries, but the experience was disappointing from the moment we arrived. First, we had to ask for someone to take our jackets something that should have been offered as standard in a restaurant of this caliber. Then, after being seated, we waited over 30 minutes for our food to arrive, with no explanation or apology. The lack of attentiveness was frustrating, especially on what was supposed to be a carefully planned evening. To make matters worse, when the wine was brought to the table, the server did not ask my partner to taste it before pouring—an inexcusable oversight for any establishment that takes its service seriously. By the end of the night, I was so disappointed that I refused to pay the service charge one of the very few times I have ever done so. Given the reputation and pricing of Petersham Nurseries, this was an unacceptable experience, and I certainly won’t be returning for a special occasion again.

Beautifully appointed restaurant with a peaceful ambience. Really excellent food. Wine very expensive. Waiter very attentive and friendly. We’ll be back.

Strange one. Should have been great but wasn’t. Risotto served very quickly (too quickly) as a starter. Slightly strange texture. Reheated? Dover sole drowning in butter. Potatoes greasy. Overall a bit disappointing.

Dinner was exactly what we were hoping for. Perfectly fresh and really delicious. The space is lovely and the lighting warm and soft. Really a pleasure. Thank you.

Lovely quiet place to meet up for lunch. Fresh, beautifully presented food - all seasonal. Slightly expensive but worth the treat!

Giuseppe was fantastic such a pleasure eating in your wonderful restaurant food exceptional and wine choice second to none ! We were so impressed with the passion of your team as mentioned above Giuseppe a sense of theatre and fun to our lunchtime dining experience but never loosing site of his professional position . Once again thank you for the wonderful hospitality and great atmosphere Roberto and Fionna . Looking forward to dining with you again next time in London

Stunning .. we had the most fantastic time at The Petersham, Covent Garden. We were there for a friend’s birthday and we treated beautifully by the exceptional Giuseppe (Manager) and his team. I would also like to say how excellent our waiter, Hardik was too. What a gentleman. We will most definitely be back.
