THE PORT HOUSE
DUBLIN & LONDON
Opened first in 2006 we realised we had something special in our little cave on South William Street in Dublin 2! Twelve months later, we opened another little cave in Temple Bar and our third in a cottage in Dundrum Town’s Centre’s Pembrook District.

After three successful restaurants and seven years of hard work and saving our pocket money, we decided we were grown up enough to hit London in search of fame and fortune down the West End of Covent Garden, where we hope to get a small bit part alongside Jude Law!

In 2019, we were delighted to announce that we opened our fifth location in Camden Street, Dublin 2. Which is an incredibly diverse area that gives us the opportunity to present our tapas, ports and wines with a focus on Cava that does not receive the attention it deserves.

Churros are delicious! Portions are small, but tasty. We ordered 3 dishes each, as some dishes are difficult to share. Great atmosphere!

Had a lovely pre-Christmas dinner with two friends. From start to finish it was a great experience. The staff were very attentive and we weren't waiting very long to order. The food came out quickly, even though they were fully booked and every dish we ordered was delicious. The only downside were the hard wooden seats, but in fairness I wasn't conscious of being uncomfortable during the meal. The atmosphere was also very nice and when the bill came we were pleasantly surprised and felt it was very good value for money. I had read some reviews about people still being hungry after having tapas here but that wasn't the case for us and we had about 4 tapas each. Overall a brilliant experience and we will certainly be back!

Service was honestly really bad. We gave two sheets to order tapas, waitress only ordered one of them and then when we mentioned this, she only ordered one side this time. We had to keep calling her over, and as polite as we were she didn’t even try to fix her mistakes. By the time she finally ordered all the missing food, the food that came was cold so we asked for it to be sent back to reheat so all the food could come at once. The food took ages again, and by the time the ‘reheated’ food came back it wasn’t reheated at all and was so cold. Took about an hour too before all the food came. Really unattentive aswell, they hadn’t refilled water or checked on anything to be honest. I think it’s reasonable to get all your tapas at once, or as close to, as one of us is a vegetarian and one a meat eater and we got our foods at totally different times (over an hour apart) and couldn’t eat together. Have had such great experiences in the porthouses and we love the food usually but honestly the food was all horrible when so cold & had been there so long at that point we just wanted to leave fast but had to go up and pay the bill ourselves since service was again so slow. Felt quite annoyed paying for food which was so unenjoyable to be honest and nothing was actually done to help the really sad experience to be honest.

Food was delicious but it was the amazing, friendly service that impressed me the most.

Tried the Port House Ibericos again. We used to come here quite often as it close to home. Portions certainly have suffered form srinkflation. Wine was nice and staff ok but overall experience poor. Wings were greasy and far better value and places to eat at similar price ranges. Can’t see us going back.

Really disappointed with the food - the mini burgers were not good at all - fatty and greasy. Mushroom portion was tiny. Croquettes were overcooked.

Great and expansive wine selection in a good price range. Food mediocre. Patatas braves were horrible , nice little roasted spuds with cold gloop pored over them are a far cry from from a very basic menu offering. Service was initially good but as the restaurant filled up it became impossible to get any attention from the staff with regard to ordering desert or coffee...so we left and paid at the till
