   From the get go the staff were excellent, the potted lobster starter was excellent, the monkfish curry main was again excellent, i have a slight complaint here though, there was too much it prevented me from getting to the deserts 🤪

   Food excellent as always and the team are super friendly. The halibut, fresh crab, and cod are stand outs and the Specials menu offers a wide range of locally caught fish. Potted Lobster is our go to destination every time we’re in Northumberland

   A fantastic evening. Friendly service, nice decor and spotlessly clean. The food was outstanding, very well presented and generous portions. If you are in Bamburgh then this restaurant is a must. Well done Potted Lobster take a bow.

   We arrived early as it was a very cold day but we’re happily able to have lunch a little earlier. The twice baked lobster and cheese souffle was delicious, in a very tasty sauce with some crunchy toppings to add texture. Our main course was pan fried turbot with fondant potato, broccoli and mangetout. The fish was beautifully cooked and the green vegetables perfectly al dente. Unfortunately we were driving so unable to sample the wine list. This was a pity as there were some very interesting quality wines on the list. This certainly is an excellent restaurant for a good selection of lovely fresh fish.

   Having received such good recommendations from friends we were disappointed with some dishes. 2 of us had the starter of soft shell crab from the Specials board. It was not good. It was tasteless, soggy and not at all appealing. Thereafter I had sea trout nicoise for the main course. The fish was fine but the nicoise was nothing special and the potatoes were hard. A simple fish dish that wasn’t executed well. For the prices charged we would have expected better.
