Really enjoyed the Sunday roast. The roasted squash and beetroot was particularly delicious. Certainly would visit again!

We went for the Sunday roast and found the pub very busy and service particularly slow although friendly. The roasts we were served were barely warm and the pork was small and dry and the beef thinly sliced and chewy. The veggies were nice but cold and the roast potatoes were the worst I’ve had in a long time. Not light and fluffy inside or crunchy outside. Felt they’d been sitting out on the bench for some time. Yorkshires were much the same and overall it was very average. Sadly won’t be going back on Sunday again.

Fantastic Sunday roast but the service was shockingly poor. Everyone working that evening had a sulky, petulant attitude to providing basic customer service. This was the tone from all three of the bar staff when I had to request more than the single menu given and for the dirty table to be wiped. Not what you want on any occasion, let alone a birthday evening out!

We visited on a quiet Saturday afternoon for lunch. The menu was a bit of a letdown as it mostly featured burgers but the food was good nonetheless

I had eaten here before, this time I couldn’t help being a bit disappointed in comparison - very standard pub grub, not well seasoned, the pork consisted mainly of fat and didn’t contain any crackle. The veg option was very bland too. The staff were lovely and very helpful particularly Melina and Gheeta (spelling?)

Had a lovely lunch with my friend here on Sunday. We had the soup of the day and the monkfish which was really tasty. Service was good and the atmosphere was very lively. Chewing gum had been stuck on the shelf beside our table which hadn’t been cleaned off.

Had booked a table for 6, was given a table of 4. When I asked for the table of 6 the waitress just squeezed a chair in and said three people would have to sit along the booth side. No apology. For somewhere that specialises in tap beer the barman had no idea about the beers and wasn’t able to make any recommendations. When we went to order we were told the kitchen was closed for 20 minutes- would have been good customer service to know this when we were seated. The place was like a crèche. I have never experienced more children under three in a public house, ever. It made it very noisy with iPhones on full noise, kids screaming and parents enjoying their night out yelling over their kids to drown out the noise. Food was good when the correct orders finally arrived. Very limited menu, which is fine, but when the menu is so limited you would expect the right things to arrive first time; especially after having to wait for the kitchen to reopen, to order and for it to come.

A fantastic roast in a lovely pub. The only thing that marked it down is we only had the table slot for 30mins before the next booking despite saying we wanted to eat in advance. Luckily the next person was chill and gave us the extra time but made the whole thing unnecessarily rushed.

Very friendly staff, one of the best roasts I’ve ever had and a lovely place to be. All in all, a very pleasant experience all round. Thanks!
