The Queens Arms is situated at the heart of the ancient village of Corton Denham, nestling on the Somerset / Dorset border just north of Sherborne. Surrounded by stunning countryside, this late 18th Century British pub with rooms will delight those in search of good drink, good food and real comfort.

Our philosophy is 'measuring our food in meters not miles'
We strongly believe in the provenance and quality of all our food that is why we source as much as possible from the stunning South West countryside and local producers.
We have chickens and pigs on our own smallholding and the head chef works closely with our neighbour to provide us with Corton Denham grown fruit and vegetables.

Would have been nice to be met at entrance and ordered drink on arrival. I was waiting for service for 15 mins. And had to ask members of staff to turn music on as was silent, little atmosphere. Wine and food was good tho

Had a gorgeous lunch in the outside marquee.. would have loved to have been inside but the rules said no. So ambience wasnt as lovely as inside would have been...but that is nobodies fault. Service and food were excellent.

We ate outside. It was very well set up and warm with patio heaters and blankets available. The service was quick and efficient and the staff were all very pleasant. The food was excellent and we would definitely eat there again.

A great outdoor marquee set up for Covid compliance with heaters, a fire pit and rugs. Service was very prompt and the mulled wine made me feel as if I was in a ski resort, which as I was wearing full ski clothing was appropriate. Worth a visit.

Food was good as always - though I couldn't detect any hint of the lemongrass supposed to feature in the (otherwise very tasty) hake dish. Service was a bit slow, but waiters were friendly and apologetic, and explained that they were more than usually over-stretched. We did feel more could have been done re Covid-proofing though (especially as we were there with my 80-year old mother). Our table location near the front door meant that one member of our party was less than a metre away from every customer entering the pub. Plus there appeared no attempt by the waiter to bring drinks and plates on a tray and we then help ourselves. We have seen these measures in use in other restaurants and they don't take much but they do increase confidence in the seriousness with which Covid prevention is taken. Meanwhile, as the 2nd lockdown looms we wish you all the best for getting through it - & look forward to returning on the other side...

Excellent service, the second couple in our group were delayed and everyone was very "chilled". Great to return and will be back again.

Delicious hake, very generous portion. Cosy but classy country pub.
