The Ragged Cot is a beautiful boutique country inn with a history spanning over three hundred years. From sun-drenched gardens in a picturesque Cotswold setting to roaring log fires creating a cosy atmosphere, the Ragged Cot is the place to be at any time of the year.

Having stood proudly since the 17th Century, the coaching house has an intriguing past filled with highwaymen and pilferage. Recently under new ownership, the Ragged Cot has been lovingly restored to combine authentic countryside tradition with modern style and comfort – with dogs and wellies welcome! The shabby chic interior and deeply comfortable bedrooms are the epitome of countryside cool.

Driving up from Cornwall to meet friends we were stuck in horrendous holiday traffic. Our booking was 2.15 so already close to the kitchen closing at 3. I phoned to say that we would be late and possibly miss last orders. The lady who took the call was sympathetic and charming telling us not to worry abd that worst case scenario would be bar snacks that were available all day. As it was we arrived at 2.58, we were able to order from the full menu with no pressure and the food was absolutely delicious. So pleased this delightful pub is 110% back on form.

We has been recommended this pub, and it was very much out of our way but decided to make the effort. Unfortunately it was under new management, and even though it did not appear busy service was terribly slow. We had to ask for our drinks 3 times, and were charged for drinks we did not even receive. Food was also served cold and had to be sent back. Unfortunately we will not return.

Fantastic food when you got it. We had the Beef Wellington that was cooked to order so took time. This would have been fine if we hadn’t had to wait 40 minutes for our first drink and then the meal took longer than told. We had booked a table but it wasn’t on their system. Overall not a great experience but hats off to the chef !!!!

The food was up to your usual standard, but with so few other diners the ambience was not as good. We were in the bar and it needs more pictures etc.

Only just changed hands and new staff who didn’t know what they were doing but the food itself was fantastic.

A lovely meal. Despite being unexpectedly short staffed that day, our meal arrived in a reasonable time and was very pleasant. The music in the room we were seated in was to loud to allow easy conversation, but the volume was promptly turned down on request. Overall the staff copedwellin difficult circumstances.

Staff were inattentive. Felt like we were being ignored and so our lunch time felt very awkward. We had to ask for everything and we're shoved in the bar area when everyone else enjoyed the dining area. The guineas tasted strange. The food was way overpriced for the quality and quantity. The pub itself looked lovely but I woll not be returning .
