   The restaurant at 6:30pm was empty except for me and one other person. But it is Jan, so it’s understandable, I guess. The waitress didn’t know if the duck pate was house made (it was). I ordered 3 starters: the smoked haddock chowder, garlic prawns and duck pate. All 3 were brought at the same time, forcing me to go back and forth between each dish for fear of the soup or prawns going cold. Absolutely beautiful presentation so I was excited to dive in. All 3 dishes were woefully underseasoned. I’m not a big salt user but I had to add quite a bit to each dish. The duck flavour was almost non-existent - way too much orange. The prawns had been semi-butterflied, so why weren’t they de-veined? And while they were pink, the texture of them was raw. The soup, while packed with fish and veg and lovely things, suffered in taste. I’ve not been to a restaurant where the visual of the dishes far outweighed the taste. What a shame.

   We have been in St. Ives for over 2 weeks, and we haven't had such a good meal anywhere else ! Outstanding service and top quality food make this a MUST if you love your seafood (they also serve some dishes with meat /vegetarian option). The prices are very fair. Simply one of the very best👌

   Loved it, family of four with two boys 12 and 10, they loved the food (which is rare), service brilliant even after we were warned it may be slow. We will be back 👍🏻

   Went there for the first time at New Years eve. Despite going in earlier in the week asking not to be placed by the door due to having elderly parents with us, you guessed it, right next to the door having a cold breeze every time the door was opened. Food was OK, had better and service was good. Friendly staff. They gave us a free bottle of wine which was a nice gesture due to the mess up with the table. I kept my coat on and we left after the main course. Overall, really disappointing especially as we had specifically asked to sit anywhere a few days before other than by the door.

   The Razor Clam, St Ives, is a gem of a place to eat. The restaurant itself is simple with seating on two floors, and well furnished. The service is excellent; our waitress was very charming and helpful, eager to accommodate our dietry needs. The menu offers a good range of meals, plenty of fish options especially, and the food itself was excellent. The meals came piping hot and were generous portions. My wife and I were very pleased to have discovered this place and would willingly recommend it.
