Fondée en 1728, la taverne historique The Red Fox Inn & Tavern accueille les habitants et les voyageurs à Middleburg, aussi bien pour profiter de déjeuners copieux, que de dîners décontractés ou encore d'intimes soupers aux chandelles, dans la plus pure tradition de Virginie. Les tables de chêne, le mobilier artisanal, les cheminées en pierre, les poutres apparentes taillées à la main et les murs épais en pierres des champs créent autour de vous une ambiance de salle à manger conviviale à tout moment de la journée.     Very expensive for a mediocre experience both in service and food quality. Didn’t find the dishes to be exceptional by any means. The service was not attentive, staff didn’t know the menu, didn’t come by to fill up our waters throughout the entire meal. Felt very impersonal for such an expensive meal.

    Nice ambience and nice service, although my waiter mistook a Côté de Rhone wine request for a Côte Rôtie, which of course is 4 times more expensive. One dish was tasteless and all on the menu were very heavy, maybe mixing too many ingredients as well.

    Our dinner at the tavern at ted fox inn was very tasty and delicious, we had the three course dinner and dessert, the staff didn’t hurry you with the meal which was nice. Staff were very friendly and great service.

    The atmosphere was amazing, the service was outstanding, and the food was delicious. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable of wine and was able to provide us a vivid description of every item on the menu. It will be hard to come back to Middleburg and not stop off at the Red Fox Inn again.

    At $85 per person (or more depending on your pallet), you expect more. We sat for 30 minutes with just water and without the opportunity to order. The Tavern Manager showed up to apologize and fully Fifteen minute (now 45 minutes from arriving with reservations), and after we flagged someone for bread service, we had bread. Finally, the food was very good. The restaurant made some compensatory moves, and it was over.

    One of the best high end restaurants we've been too. Btw, ask for James, he was our server, if you want the best service and knowledge regarding the property and the menu.

    They were only serving 2, 3, or 4 course meals. We signed up for the 2 course meal. There was an $18 up charge to get a grilled steak for the entree. We ordered filet mignons. The flavor was good and it was cooked medium rare, as ordered, but it was full of tough, fatty places. Never had a filet like that. The up charge for my filet was removed so I appreciated that but it kind of killed the evening.It also took forever to get a glass of wine to go with our main course. Instead of being a nice, relaxing dinner, everything, except our wine, was so hurried.
