Booking was available for 16h15. However when we got there, the bar would only open for food at 17h. Wouldn't be as much of a problem, despite the fact that Sean was very rude and unwilling to help. Reception suggested that we stayed for drinks and take a look at the menu in advance and in no time the bar would be open. That was OK and solved the problem itself. Sean was rude throughout the service.

This was the second time we have eaten here ,the first time was lovely food was great.had soup and toasted sandwich and latte,was really nice and also hot, This time toastie was cold and toast burnt on one side and latte barely warm.very disappointing.

We've eaten here on two evenings before our last visit and everything was very pleasant. This time our fish was overcooked and I had to send it back. A full meal was returned and although not as overcooked, parts of the batter were inedible. We also had a turkey dinner and asked for cranberry sauce. There was a £1 supplement added for turkey dinner. We asked for this to be removed and it was. Unfortunately our experience was not that if a 4star hotel. Disappointing on this occasion and will not rush back.

Had guests from Canada. Meal was generally fine except that the chips with my burger were slightly incinerated

We arrived at 12:40. Our order was taken at 13:10. Food arrived 13:35. Restaurant was cold. Several guests noted same. We had to plug in a portable heater. Food was beautiful.

Food was okay. The menu was a much reduced one from the one available online. Choices were very limited. When we entered I had to follow a lady up and down the bar a few times before I could engage with her to tell her we had booked a table, to be told, “nobody told us!” We were told to “just sit anywhere.” It wasn’t busy, but was noisy due to a table of 4 quite drunk and rowdy locals who swore at each other a lot. We had a gift voucher and had to approach the bar to pay as nobody came nearby to be able to ask for the bill. It took 4 members of staff before anyone knew what to do with the voucher and we were able to pay and leave. I feel a bit sorry for the chef as it was pretty nice food, but everything else about this experience was lacking. It felt more like a corner pub than a hotel.
