To put this review into context we are Roundhill regulars for their specials nights and Sunday Lunches. Usually the food, ultra friendly service and ambiance is fantastic, you are made to feel like friends rather than customers. We booked for their Valentine Night special and frankly came away thinking it was a bit meh... I found the service to be functionary rather than friendly, the food to be a bit average for a specials night, certainly nothing better than I could have done at home with a bit of effort. Perhaps they'd toned down the pub atmosphere to try to make it quiet and intimate for a valentines event, but even that felt a bit soulless. A minor point that I felt was a bit odd, was that at the end of our meal we asked for a coffee, only to be told that they were not serving coffee on the night, whereas they've regularly served a post-meal coffees without issue, we could of course carry on drinking wine so it was not an encouragement to leave the table, it just seemed to be an odd option for the night, which just added to our feeling of "meh-ness". I will be booking to go to the pub again as this is the first time that I've come away disappointed in 3 years of going there so this could have been a total one-off, although I don't feel encouraged to go back anytime soon.

Best roast me and my partner have ever had. Couldn't fault it. Amazing place, really love to be able to support independent vegan places such as this.

It’s so lovely to have a dedicated vegan pub with decent ale in town. In the past when we’ve eaten here the food has been excellent and the pub warm. The Buddha bowl was still extremely tasty although not as filling/varied as in previous visits. The chicken/onion Bhaji Nan dish was disappointing as the Nan was a bit cardboardy with a sticky jam like relish, the vegan chicken a little rubbery and the mainly lettuce salad uninspiring. Perhaps we should have steered clear of vegan meat equivalents which frequently fail to deliver, even with the most imaginative chefs, but here other aspects of the dish felt underwhelming too. The radiator behind me was on but the pub was still chilly - possible because of the extreme cold snap but my dining partner was cold and kept all his outside clothing on and buttoned up. Service, however, was efficient and friendly and the range of beers and ciders quite broad enough for most discerning pallets :) We still had a nice time although may take a bit more care studying the menu and what other diners were eating before ordering :)

Came with great expectations but was quite underwhelmed. Seitan beef was flavourless and the Yorkshire pudding was under cooked. Gravy should come on the side as everything was a bit soggy. Truffle and leek gratin didn’t taste of truffle at all. Staff were nice though.

Always excellent food and service at the roundhill. We anticipated being slightly late and the staff were absolutely fine with this. The food came out within ten minutes for 4 roasts, and everything was cooked perfectly.

We'd been twice before and on each occasion it was outstanding. So, our visit yesterday was a real disappointment. The starters were great but of the mains, mine was cold and had to go back for a re-heat which meant the nan was then over-done, and in the Buddha bowl the batter round the cauliflower was raw. They'd run out of hummus so that was missing but we were told when we ordered. Unfortunately, the staff seemed to be wishing they were somewhere else. It was a real shame as we'd taken friends specially and felt let down.

Amazing food love the Yorkshire puddings. Great service and nice atomosphere. Best vegan roast by far!
