   Wonderful views of the Navesink make this the perfect venue to meet and celebrate with family and friends. Excellent lunch menu offer wide range of food choices and service is courteous and pleasant

   Delicious appetizers, great cocktails and yummy lunch menu. Very nice ambiance for all occasions. Our server, Gabriel, was very efficient and friendly.

   Had a fun dinner celebrating a family birthday. Nice ambience on the water. Service was fabulous and our excellent server made the night, even making time to amuse the restless toddler at our table as place was not busy due to rainy night. Unfortunately food was pretty mediocre -- several of us had the linguine w attitude-- both with and without spice, and was essentially tasteless both ways. Bisque was good but needed to be served hotter. We love the bar at rum runner and in future may stick to drinks.

   Wonderful meal. Just outstanding!! My husband had the swordfish and I had the butternut squash ravioli. Absolutely delicious. Great dining experience from start to finish. Beautiful views!! We’ll be back!! Our waitress, Lara, was terrific!!

   Second time dining there and while the first time was great. This past time left much to be desired. We went early for dinner so we could pick from their regular menu and not the prefixed Valentine’s Day menu. Service was slow. We were looking forward to their bread basket which was warm and fresh the first time. This time the bread seemed baked too far ahead and just reheated. My wife order the filet well done and it came out very rare which totally ruined her appetite. Service was slow and we waited a long time for our food. They also put us at a table which was very small I guess they really wanted to pack in as many people as the could, but we barely had enough room for our plates and the bread board. Very disappointing Valentines dinner. I purposely picked Rum Runner because it was so fantastic the first time we went so it was very disappointing that service and food were so bad on such a romantic night.

   Food was delicious. Service was excellent and if you get there at the right time, you can catch a nice sunset.

   So last night my wife and I went out for a date night to The Rum Runner. We’ve been there before and had a good experience. However last night as we were 1 of about 5 or 6 tables there, were floored by the quality of service and food for an over $300 dinner. We ordered a seafood appetizer for $70 that was to include a lobster tail, 5 shrimp, 5 oysters and 5 clams. It came out with no tail, a missing shrimp and no butter ? Then was left on the table for us to shuffle around it for the next 30 minutes after we finally got our tail and missing shrimp. Then two steaks come out that were ordered medium. One was cooked medium the other was well done and missing potatoes? The one that was done right had an order of cold garlic truffle fries. Both couldn’t even be put down on the table because the huge seafood tray of ice and garnishing were still there. All of this while the owner Tim Mccloon was sitting at the bar getting more attention from our waitress than we did. To make matters worse the manager came over and said they would comp our next round of drinks and one of the steaks, desert, the bread and appetizer. I guess that adds up to the $50 they actually took off?!? They even charged us an extra $5 for substituting the fries for the potatoe, which the waitress said there was no charge for ?!? We didnt even take the desert, just wanted to get out of there. The highlight of the evening was the guy on the piano. I have to say we won’t be back there ever again. For a restaurant that had barely 5 tables at 7pm it was embarrassing.

   I’ve never had a bad meal at the Rum Runner. One of my favorite restaurants in the area. Food and service excellent. My niece and I both had the short ribs, so tender and tasty…highly recommended

    Brunch menu selections well thought out with something that appealed to everyone. My entree was amazing, the Italian Eggs with lobster, deep satisfying flavor. Everybody else enjoyed their meals as well. Beautiful views and the service was excellent. The pastries could definitely use an upgrade. Looking forward to going back!
