We are thrilled to announce the long-anticipated reopening of our restaurant! Step into the newly reimagined Landmark Tavern at The Ryland Inn, where the charm of a classic tavern meets the sophistication of modern dining. At the heart of our kitchen is Executive Chef Daniel Brunina, whose passion for local, fresh ingredients shines through in every dish.

While the Tavern menu takes center stage, our culinary creativity extends far beyond. From cult wines and rare spirits to classic cocktails, the details are crafted to create an unforgettable dining experience. Set against a backdrop of unpretentious charm, with equestrian décor that reflects our rich history and playful spirit, The Ryland Inn is more than just a place to eat—it's again a destination for those who seek the joys of exceptional food, great company, and an atmosphere that feels like home.

Welcome back to the Ryland, welcome home.

The wait staff was wonderful. The brunch had an assortment of hot and cold food. The hot food and coffee was not hot, lukewarm at best. At the omelet station the food was not cooked through, the mushrooms were large and not sliced for an omelet, and the presentation was slopped onto my plate with the cheese not inside the omelet. Unfortunately it was inedible. The cold station was ok. The bagel area didn’t have a way to toast them. The artichoke heart salad had hard carrots sliced into it which I thought was odd. The salad area was nothing special. The potato salad by the hot station was very good and so was the broccoli rabe. The French toast would have been top of my list of favorites but it was cold. The layout was odd. Spread throughout the bar area and dining area. Items meant for the salad area were in the hot area or visa verse.

Prior to COVID, we dined at Ryland Inn ten or more times a year. They have been closed for some time but recently reopened and since we were visiting the area, booked a reservation. While it is no longer the amazing farm-to-table menu, the food prep was very impressive. Tom, our bartender, was very knowledgeable and professional. We knew the previous team very well and he would have fit in nicely. He made my Sazarac beautifully. On to dinner: Skip the wedge salad- while trying to be clever, the red leaf lettuce wasn’t properly washed and much too gritty. Too bad- the blue cheese and bacon were excellent. The salmon (special) was perfect. As was the shirt rub and grits. Wines are very pricy. So we opted to order by the glass and found a very drinkable Cabernet. We both ordered the crème brûlée for dessert which was creamy and delicious. So, while not the same Ryland inn we were accustomed to, it is still very good.

I brought my wife here to celebrate her birthday. I never got a chance to experience the Ryland Inn pre-Covid. The chef started us off with an amuse-bouche, a soup served in an espresso mug. As an appetizer, we had the crispy foraged maitake mushroom. It was very light and crispy, it reminded me of the coating on really good cod for fish and chips. Cocktail wise, I started off with the Alpine old fashioned which they smoked and my wife had a glass of Pinot Noir. For our entrees, my wife had the special which was a salmon with a parsley crust and fingerling potatoes. I went with the sea scallops with honey nut squash and maple-bacon jam. Both were very good. For dessert, we had a three cheese cheesecake and the Mexican chocolate soufflé. We enjoyed both. The soufflé was very good even without the vanilla-bourbon anglaise. The staff were all very friendly, from the valet at the front door, to the young women that took our coats, and the waitstaff that took our orders, filled our drinks and cleared the flatware. They had the fireplace going. There are sconces on the wall providing subtle lighting, along with small, cordless lamps on the tabletops. Since it's only about 15 minutes away, we'll probably return, even if it's just to hang out at the bar.

I love the Ryland Inn. I got married here and have had dinner here multiple times and their dinner is amazing but their brunch leaves something to be desired. It was very lacking and didn’t have all the things they said they had online. It was 2 or 3 stations with not much food. Definitely not worth the $50-80 per person. Very disappointing!! Would not come back for brunch or suggest it to anyone.

The menu is minimal, very little options. We both settled for a meal which was ok. Our server was not attentive to our table. She walked away several times and gave us an attitude when we declined a dessert menu. We waited over 15 minutes for our first drink and the second came after we finished our meal. This used to be my favorite place before they shut down. I was disappointed for our first time back. I would go back for cocktails at the bar but nothing else until they offer a better dinner menu
