Hiraeth; a term unique to Wales and Welsh culture, an intangible pull on the heart that conveys a deep sense of belonging, the desire to return to the place of one’s birth, to come home. For The Shed Restaurant and Executive Chef Jonathan Woolway, our place in the world is happily Swansea.
Composed along the expanse of Swansea Bay, flanked by the Gower Peninsula and Brecon Beacons, within striking distance of the fertile valleys, coastal plains and farmland of West Wales, the Waterfront City of Swansea sits at the beating heart of nature’s larder. Bounties of the season from land, sea and pasture are at our fingertips.
Our daily changing menus reflect a constant creative evolution, making use of local produce at the very place and moment of their seasonal prime. This begins in the kitchen and is realised at the table; Egalitarian, convivial and accessible to all. Full in heart and generous of spirit.

Wonderful three course meal. Tasty, top-notch food. Friendly staff, who cared about proving excellent service. Definitely will book again.

We loved every dish in this restaurant from the broccoli and cured duck starters to the perfection of the steak and kidney pie and side dishes and the exquisite coffee parfait and strawberry sorbet desserts. This is truly cooking at its very finest served by friendly staff. While we have read some reviews focusing on the authenticity of the ingredients and recipes we just wish to highlight the skill with which the food is cooked and presented and the delicacy of the sauces and accompaniments.

Wonderful menu with lots of tempting choice. More fish mains would also be welcome for piscatarians. Crab starter and muscle starter were big hits with us, both were packed with flavour and we love the ingredients are local.

We had such a lovely, warm welcome and the staff recognised us from previous visits, which was very nice. The staff are so friendly, welcoming and attentive. Nothing is too much trouble for them, no matter how busy they are. The food is served and presented beautifully. The choice and taste of the dishes is very nice indeed. The atmosphere is relaxed and we were not rushed at all during our stay. We would highly recommend a visit to the Shed in Swansea. We will be returning very soon. David & Steve

An excellent experience from the moment we entered the Restaurant. Great decor, tables well spaced out and just the right level of music to not intrude on any conversation. Great playlist also. Service was 1st class from all the staff, they all knew their stuff and we were confident of a great meal. Menu was really well constructed and an excellent small specials board to compliment the menu. When our choices arrived we were delighted with the presentation and portion size, which was very generous. Our drinks were delivered on time with our courses and were great. I can't really fault any of the lunch we enjoyed, The Shed is one of the best restaurants in Swansea, if not the best overall for quality, price and service. Well done all.

Food was outstanding, the vibe/feel of The Shed, was relaxed. Staff were spot on, without being overpowering. We will be calling again, maybe on the evening ☺️

From the moment we entered the restaurant it was fantastic . The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgable . The food was fantastic as well . I would highly recommend this restaurant as the whole experience was the best we have had . Thank you . We have booked to come back in April and are really looking forward to it
