   The food was absolutely gorgeous, without a doubt the best meal we've both eaten out for a very long time, generous portions and very very tasty. Service was prompt with the staff being very friendly and helpful suggesting what to eat and drink. Overall an excellent experience and we'll definitely be returning if we're in Wells again.

   Had a lovely meal for my wife’s birthday. Last minute change of table was accommodated which was appreciated. Just a shame that the table next to us decided to rudely hold a FaceTime call which anyone in the vicinity could hear which was disruptive due to the volume of the call.

   Great food and well presented. The moules are very good quality and cooked in a lovely broth We are regular drinkers here and live the atmosphere. It is a treat to eat here especially on a sneaky Friday night. Whether you are here in your own or in a group then staff are very attentive. Sunday roast is also the best in Wells.

   We booked on an Internet recommendation and were not disappointed. The roast was fantastic with huge portions of incredibly tasty food. The staff were helpful, knowledgeable and really friendly with the focus on making sure everything was to our satisfaction. Definitely worthy of a return visit.

   Lovely pub with delicious food. Great attention to detail. Superb service and friendly staff. The only things to mention were we felt a little rushed having a sign on the table with the next booking time - an hour and a half after our time. Makes it impersonal. Also it was quite cold, the log burner nearby would have been great if lit. Otherwise a great visit, would definitely recommend if you're after something a little special.

    We really enjoyed our visit to the Sheep & Penguin on Valentines Day. We received a warm welcome and free cocktail, which we weren't expecting. The menu choices were extensive and there was nothing we didn't like. After a starter we selected a lamb dish & pork dish for our main courses and these were both delicious! This was followed by a desert and coffee. I chose a large glass of Syrah, which I really enjoyed. My wife was a little disappointed by the Sauvignon Blanc she chose and later switched to a Chardonnay, which she felt was also a little underwhelming. The dining room was initially a bit cold, but the adjacent radiator came on during our meal, which was relief. However, overall, we rated our experience very highly, and will definitely be visiting again.
