What was once a rowdy sailor’s drinking den has been transformed into a civilised gastro pub complete with a separate and impressive function and convention facility that can cater for up to 200 guests. This iconic South Bank hotel was constructed in 1864 and has developed a reputation as a lamb lover’s paradise. Our classic pub style menu boasts mouth watering dishes for all dining tastes. With three distinct dining areas plus function rooms, The Ship Inn is the perfect location for casual dining, lazy alfresco lunches, functions and events. We don’t have poker machines, we don’t have TV’s and we don’t have TAB. We are a true gastro pub with a traditional atmosphere in a prime South Bank location. Great place to eat, good menu choices, better than average Pub Grub. Lovely sitting outside under the verandah enjoying the ambiance of Southbank

The staff was so happy and friendly and very obliging with some changes to what was offered on the menu. eg I ordered Steak but it came with veges etc and I just wanted a salad which they happily provided.

Food is always amazing, fresh , great variety and fantastic value for money, we only go a few times a year but I’ve never been disappointed yet- plus as a bonus the staff are all lovely 🌸

We all had a wonderful night for Valentine's Day dinner at the Ship Inn great services and delicious food, nice wine a very enjoyable evening.

Dined with a group of seven friends. Food quality was good and reasonably priced. Drinks were also reasonably priced. Service was good. Only negative is that it does close fairly early for a Saturday night. Think this may be the case for a number of dining venues in the area.

Great food, great prices, great atmosphere, not too noisy, lovely staff, easy 5 min walk from southbank train/bus station.

Well organised for our large group of diners. Service was prompt and efficient and meals were ample and good quality. We would recommend The Ship Inn and will return!

Had a great Sunday afternoon lunch with my friends at the Ship Inn today. I booked for 10 people but unexpectedly 14 showed up and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and accomodating. The food was great too so we will be back again soon!
