One of the most unique bars in Ayr, The Smoking Goat is a tucked away spot decked out with comfy booths and cave-like walls. From historical interiors and gin cocktails to the newly upgraded outdoor terrace, this is a pretty special place to spend your evening. A basement bar with a lazy feel, its comfy seating is perfectly suited to its music policy. With a flowing roster of acoustic nights of up and coming bands makes this a great underground venue to check out great underground talent. The Smoking Goat is one slick subterranean hideout.

Ordered starters, mains and some sides. The sides came out first and the starters and mains. So ended up with table full of food. Not great experience, food not great for price burger poor quality, very disappointed as looked forward to this place

Even although I live near Ayr I'd never been in this place. Decided to give it a go along with my wife, son and his girlfriend for his 22nd birthday. Im absolutely horrified that I didn't know about it for his 16th or 18th birthday because I'd have been going back regularly. The food was exceptional to anything else offered in the same genre in the town... The best food I've eaten in years. The staff were ideal, attentive but not too clingy and the location has to be seen to be believed. Highly recommend....

Fantastic food, fantastic service and a class venue!!! Oh and the cocktails were out of this world!!

Too loud, nice atmosphere, overall the food was good. Tempura had a strange taste, would still go back.

Table for 4 , table location was terrible sat facing a brick wall between the two arches on hard uncomfortable chairs, which meant my husbands chair was always getting bumped into as people passing to go to toilet or waiting staff going back and forth we asked if we could move to another table but told the fee tables had been booked (what’s the difference so had ours?), 3 other tables empty the duration we were there, drinks order very slow,. Our table was for 7.30 and had checked website before booking to see if any live entertainment was on the website said 9pm as we were there with visitors frm Australia and wanted to have a conversation over dinner and didn’t want to shout for the duration, but the live acoustic singer started once we had ordered around 7.45 and was literally right beside us and very loud particularly the high notes, we ate quickly and left .I have been here several times and it was excellent, hence booking again , but I was extremely disappointed this time and puts us off coming back in case it happens again.

Realy nice atmosphere and location great food and good service who were pleasant always would go back again as a gourmet burger restraunt.
