Nestling beside Seaton green and just 50 yards from the beach, The Smugglers Inn is a family and dog friendly pub that prides itself on offering a traditional selection of classic pub fayre, cooked by our enthusiastic team of chefs, using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible.

Along with the classics, we have a continually updated Specials Board where our chefs love to show their flare and creativity.

The highlight of our culinary week is undoubtedly our Sunday Carvery. Routinely described by our regular customers as ‘The best roast in the area’, with a selection of 4 roast meats, crispy roast potatoes, an amazing selection of 7 vegetables, plus homemade Yorkshire puddings and gravy, it is a truly sumptuous feast to end your week!

Vegetarians are also well catered for, with many of our dishes available with a vegetarian option, including our carvery which comes with TWO homemade vegetarian choices – a delicious nut roast and a vegan lentil roast.

Booked for Sunday lunch carvery. Got there a little early but shown to our table, which was a cramped 2 seater in the gloomiest, darkest area in the pub. Squashed in between other tables so that every time someone left a neighbouring table, they kicked you or bashed your chair. Service was a clusterfunk ... told it was table service, but drinks didn't arrive for 15 minutes and by the time we got a ticket for the carvery, there was a queue of at least 12 -15 people that never seemed to reduce, so we had to join and stand there for an age, like kids in a school dinner line, shuffling forward every now and then. Food was actually lovely ONCE you got some, but there is no system in place to manage the way that people go up to the counter. It made a mockery of booking at a given time and one group, who arrived after us, gave up and left after being sent back to their table, only to find that another half dozen or so who had arrived after them, were already being served ... appalling way to treat customers. Hate to think what it must be like outside of a mid-January Sunday and in silly season!

The smugglers carvery was excellent as usual. I was able to move tables after asking a member of staff as the one I’d been allocated wasnt really suitable as i had my dog with me. The staff are always very friendly and efficient.
