A glorious pub in the wonderfully atmospheric Surrey countryside The Spotted Cow at Lower Bourne serves high quality pub food in superb surroundings. Nestled in enchanting woodlands, The Spotted Cow is old fashioned but modern all at once. The décor is fresh and light, creating a comfortable atmosphere that appeals to all ages and tastes. A large child and dog friendly beer garden surrounds the premises, separated in to two areas with one entirely enclosed and the other open to the surrounding country. Real ales and carefully selected wines are accompanied by The Spotted Cow’s excellent gastropub menu which includes the best of British with just a sprinkling of international flavour.

Disappointing experience at the Spotted Cow today. Specifically visited them for a pizza but was told they weren’t doing pizzas today. Ordered a very lack lustre burger that certainly was wasn’t worth the £17.50 price! And then very disappointed to see all the other diners feasting on the pizzas that I was told were not being served today! On mentioning this to staff there was very little interest or apology! When the bill came I again explained my unhappiness at the situation and would at least expect the drinks to be taken off the bill as a gesture of goodwill, however management were unwilling to do this. I do like this pub, however I had a rubbish customer experience there today! All it would have taken was an apology and small gesture of goodwill to rectify the situation but they were unable to do this! Sadly I will not now be returning!

Great place - not been for a while but such a fab spot, great food, great atmosphere - definitely a place to make a regular visit.

A hidden gem. The outside area in the sun was just beautiful and the staff were so welcoming. The main pub could perhaps do with updating in line with the outside area and lovely toilets. The staff were really accommodating of my dietary requirements and the food was scrumptious. I’d definitely go again when I’m next in the area.

A very nice place with good food set in a lovely location. Well worth the drive to get to if you like somewhere off the beaten track.

Table for 6. Delicious Roast dinner, attentive service! Personally, I am also glad there is a Turkey option for the roast. Children’s roasts are generous in size too.

Came for a family Sunday lunch and it was absolutely love. The lady that served us made the whole experience amazing! Thank you for having us we will be back!

We love it at the spotted cow but on this occasion a table of 10-12 guests were very very loud and we couldn’t hear our own conversation. We know it’s not normally like that but it did over shadow what should have been a nice romantic meal for two
