Welcome to The Spread at Darrington, we look forward to seeing you. We are trying our best to bring you as normal a pub experience as possible, unfortunately due to the restrictions imposed to keep us safe from COVID 19, we are having to take table bookings only.

We are currently only taking bookings for drinks and in 2 hour slots.

Group of 8 friends for our first Fish and Fizz evening meal at The Spread. Online booking wasn’t 100% - the system only accepted up to 6 and subsequent email confirmations were also for 6 even though our party size of 8 was included in notes. Couldn’t contact The Spread by phone despite several attempts so eventually had to pop in to be assured that the booking for 8 around one table had been noted. Rectangular table for 8 set and ready for us. Drinks ordering either from the bar or female server was smooth and straightforward. All selected the Fish and Chips but had the option of swapping out the Fizz for a bottle of wine. Both Fizz and Wine were very palatable. Fabulous fish - well cooked, all crispy batter and a very generous size. Chips were good but could perhaps been a tad ‘crispier’ and not as overly brown. No problems at all with taste and quantity but perhaps an area for improvement? Service was exemplary throughout our visit. Smiley, professional and prompt both at table and at the bar. Certainly a great first visit, overall. Looking forward to our next.

A party of 4 adults and a 4 there was no specific children's menu, but we were happy to have smaller portions of the adult menu. The 2men in our party opted for beef. They were not disappointed. The 2 ladies opted for chicken. The portion size was generous. The veg and gravy was served as a dish & boat per couple. We didn't ask for extra but im sure it wouldn't have been an issue. The love of the meal was had by all, however, for myself, and the children (I don't like hot spicy food) the roasted carrots were really over peppered/ seasoned. Having said that the others only grumble was that they didn't have more of them as they loved them. The veg was a little underwhelming as it was only few garden peas, runner beans and blue cauliflower, plus there was also no stuffing. We will definitely be going again as I now know to ask for any seasoned part of the meal to be served on the side :)

Fantastic food, so accommodating & helpful with vegan choices also. All the staff were friendly & welcoming. Will definitely be returning again

All staff were friendly and welcoming. We had had Sunday roast it was delicious. We will definitely be back
