Excellent experience. Lovely welcome and friendly staff. Good food and service was friendly. Good menu. Good with children. Dog friendly. Lovely meal and ambience. Good play area for children, good area for dogs with a common and woods over the road. Plenty of on street parking. Hope to visit again with my family,

Fantastic Sunday lunch couldn’t ask for anything else! Wonderful roast pork, chicken and beef. Great side of cauliflower cheese. Will definitely return.

We found The Squirrel by chance after visiting Hughenden. A real gem and deservedly popular. Made to feel genuinely welcome. Attentive service. We only wanted a snack but these were freshly made, substantial portions and extremely tasty. Would definitely recommend and will go again if we're in the area. Just wished we had a dog with us as it is outstandingly 'dog friendly'

Food was good pub food and good value. Service was excellent, very friendly. It was quite noisy in the bar area but overall would highly recommend

Quality of food and warmth of welcome were excellent but 2 of 4 orders were delivered wrongly and we had to wait for replacements. This was the second d time a meal had been marked with poor service and errors in the order. It’s a shame as it’s a great pub but clearly understaffing is causing basic errors, delays and dissatisfaction. We were not alone in having problems in the restaurant! Once bitten, teuce shy, not sure we’ll go a third time. 😞

Lunch post a winter walk. Incredibly welcoming team with great quality food and drinks at very decent value. And our dogs were very welcome ! Everything we wanted really…

Whilst the quality one food was very good indeed, flavoursome and well presented, the service was really terrible. We waited an age for our drinks to arrive and even longer for the wine, but this was eclipsed by the delivery of the main courses: 4 plates arrived within a few minutes of each other but the 5th plate did not arrive for more than 10 minutes by which time the other mains were getting cold. I chased once with the waitress, would be another 2 minutes. 5 minutes later I asked for the manager or owner as it was clearly not the waitresses fault but I did have 5 hungry guests with 4 cold dinners! More apologies and a longer wait. They did deduct 1 course from the bill but it’s was super bad that we had 4 cold meals and 5 upset diners. Clearly understaffed in the bar and the kitchen hen the 5th meal had clearly been forgotten. A 10% saving was not what we were looking for. It’s a nice pub and food quality is good as is the menu, but I’d never eat there again: go to the Old Queens Head in Penn the food is as good if not better and the service is first class.
