Welcome to modern American food with serious local flavor; or as we like to say, rustic but refined. Just some of The Stand's distinctions include charcuterie, craft beers, private dining areas, a 10-seat chef's table and so much more. It's downtown cool with an uptown vibe.

Open Table made me a reservation in a restaurant that had closed its doors, gone out of business! Talked to a person on the premises who said that the restaurant hadn't used Open Table for couple of weeks.

I was looking for a new place to have a nice dinner than the chains my husband and I frequent. I had to do a lot in convincing our party to try a new place. So I looked up the review on The Stand and thought how could I go wrong? Well I was wrong, it started almost as soon as when we were seated , they asked if we wanted a cocktail... (my husband loves craft beer and they claimed to have a good selection of craft beers) my husband ordered a beer of the list they gave us and the waitress said the list they gave us was old and recited only a few beers they had in replacement of the many they had on the list. We asked for Oysters for an appetizer (another reason we went there). She said they never got a shipment from their vendor so they were out. She also said, let me bring you up to speed, we are out of the Halibut the Salmon and the Trout! There were just 3 other selections left that were beef. They already had a limited selection of entrees and they eliminated three. It was late and would find it difficult to find another place and settled on starting with a drink and some appetizers they had. We waiting for the drinks a while. The waitress said they were making them. We order 2 draft craft beers and a glass of wine. Mean while the folks that came in after us at the next table , left when the waiter told them everything on the menu they did not have. When our 3 drinks came, the waitress reached over the table and poured my wine into a glass that splattered all over from the messy pour. That was it for my husband who told her to cancel the appetizers and asked for the check to settle up on the drinks we had. We saw no manager when we stopped the appetizers and asked for our bill. We did not hear an "I am sorry" or an " I hope this won't stop you in the future from trying us again". Nothing. I would not return or recommend this place. It is unfortunate because it looked great on paper.

The food and service were excellent, however the restaurant seems to be having some issues. On a Friday night between7-9pm there were only four parties in the restaurant and a few people in the bar. There was no valet service as there was in the past. They were out of three of the eight entrees. There were only two desserts available. While the food quality was still very high, I would be hesitant to return with the limited menu.

The service was amazing, Brian was a great server and very attentive to our needs. The menu sounds basic but the chef has found a very unique way of combining different simple ingredients into a delicious meal. Would definitely recommend.

They really need to get valet parking for the winter( which they were telling people they would have for the winter). Parking across the street and walking through the snow is a pain. Follow that up with slow service on the drinks and it was a bit annoying.

The food was overall very good, some options were not available, which I understand as they had a large group before us dining with them, but as this group was long booked in with them according to the waitress, this should not happen for a certain number of meals. Some of which we have liked to go for. The service was way below mediocre! The guy offering some water was speaking in such a low volume that none of us were able to understand what he was saying even after asking him to repeat it twice. Silverware came later than the meals for both the main course and the desserts. The comment from the waitress was that she didn't expect our plates to be ready so soon? When dirty plates were taken from the table after the starters, the also dirty silverware was put on the table and not taken by the waiter. We were all wondering why... A few other service related issues happened and that will be the reason for all three of us to never go there again.
