Queuing out the door to be seated, finally seated after 20 minutes even though pre booked. Long waits for drinks and food to be served, even witnessed guests leaving after just starters. Food when finally arrives just thrown on the table without asking if you require any condiments, constantly having to ask for drinks to be refilled. Dessert orders taken, to then be told they are sold out, served without any cutlery or napkins.. Unfortunately the first and last time we will be visiting, such a shame..

Superb lunch at the Star for my wife’s birthday. Very tender steaks cooked to our liking. The best you’ll find anywhere. Personal service and lovely and quiet. We will definitely return.

Booked a table for Sunday lunch to celebrate my 40th birthday - we had the last booking at 4:45. When we arrived our table wasn’t ready and unfortunately there isn’t a bar area to stand in without being in the way so we ended up standing outside with our drinks for 20 mins in the cold! We all had Sunday roasts however they only had enough beef for 2 dinners and only 4 Yorkshire puddings (there were 6 of us). The food came in a timely manner but there were things missing like cauliflower cheese and red cabbage which was disappointing! However I cannot fault the response of the staff - Andre gave us 2 free bottles of Prosecco by way of an apology! The cocktails were really tasty and made well - the lad behind the bar was friendly and smiley too! I would definitely return but book in advance to get an earlier table 😊

Travelled an hour to visit the restaurant waited over an hour for our food ( there was two of us both having beef Sunday roast) then a further 40 minute wait for our dessert. The food was great, the restaurant was so cold, and the service was extremely slow. I wouldn’t travel to come back here again due to that which is a shame as the food was a really good standard

The restaurant was very cold, many people were sat with their coats still on. We were asked to leave our table when we had barely finished our main meal because the next booking had arrived; there was no limit noted when booking and 1.5 hours is not long enough for a relaxed Sunday lunch. Both times I ordered a drink without ice it turned up with ice. The second time I asked for this to be corrected but it then took about another 10 minutes to return with no ice. The food was good, but I’d rather not have to share bowls of things when I order an individual meal (such as the cauliflower cheese).

Pretty pub in the countryside. However food was a bit of a disappointment. The service for food was very quick, but unfortunately it was a lot a bit bland.
