A Traditional village pub for “Drinking & Dining” set in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds. We serve local, high quality food in a relaxed atmosphere with a warm Yorkshire welcome. You can call in for lunch, or spend the evening with us and dine in the restaurant or bar. Much of our menu consists of produce from village allotments and from our own vegetable gardens. We are, and have been since the beginning, devoted to sourcing and using local produce from the East Riding of Yorkshire. Why not take advantage of our Yorkshire Lunch Menu

Really enjoyed the visit for Sunday Lunch. Made an excellent choice and was not disappointed. Tasty food, cooked just as I requested. Service steady but was a busy lunchtime. Very friendly staff and helpful when asked questions. Will definitely look forward to a repeat visit and hopefully another excellent experience.

There were 3 in our party and 2 enjoyed their meal. My wife had the beef main course which she found chewy! I had the halibut which was fine and our companion who is a vegetarian found the veggie options fine

THANKYOU to the star ! You were reccomended to us by Morag a lovely lady who looked after us while we stayed at cave castle. I took my two Dutch friends for a special weekend away , and wanted a birthday celebration in a typical English setting but with exceptional food,wine and service. I wanted to spoil and impress my guests and was delighted with the ambience and great menu . I would definately tell anyone who is looking for a wonderful meal out to head to the star, and will hopefully be back again soon myself.

We came for Sunday Lunch to celebrate our daughters Birthday. We live in North Lincolnshire and our daughter and her husband live in Pocklington. We thought it would be a really good venue. How right we were! The food was delicious and the service 1st Class. The venue was ideal and the tables well spaced out. We had a lovely relaxing enjoyable time. Thank you all so much.

We had a very good evening, our table was waiting for us when we arrived. We skipped the starters as we normally do, but they had a very interesting selection. My wife had the Lamb and she loved it, i had the rump steak and i thought that it was probably the best steak that i had ever eaten. The desserts were excellent as well.

Cosy pub surroundings with hearty fare. I enjoyed the multiple delights of pea and asparagus in soup and salad while my husband went for the more traditional meaty pub dinner. Enjoyable.

Remains a great little find - gastropub at top end of the scale. Can't fault it for Sunday Lunch or evening meal.
