   Appetizers were not appealing. Very little dressing on Cesar salad, calamari tasted scorched. My husbands salmon had bones in it and shells from the lobster. Sent back to kitchen, second salmon dish was raw in the middle and full of butter (we drained it into a dish). Manager for the night did not appear to be friendly took a long time to come to the table. Several glasses were broken by a staff member by our table and the staff simply walked pass pieces of glass for 15-20 minutes.

   I suspect they were short-staffed or something else was going on in the kitchen because only 5 of the 6 oysters actually had oyster meat in the shell. Following the completion of that appetizer there was a 25 min wait plus the need to flag down an employee to inquire where our next course was before it came out (despite ordering everything at once upfront). Service was so much more on point during previous visits. The braised short ribs and French salad were amazing.

   The food, ambiance, and service was excellent. Our server was great, and so was the bus boy. Great option downtown.

   Date night in the D!! This is the second time we’ve dined at The Statler. Everything was great each time. Our server was great and made sure everything we needed to make our evening great was taken care of. We both had surf and turf which was prepared to our satisfaction. Overall everything was as we hoped. We will for sure make this a regular stop when we are in Detroit.

   I had an amazing evening with my girlfriend we dined in and had lovely experience up until I had to pay, the waiter kept monitoring us as if we’d run off on the bill. The night was pleasant until then, he turned out to be a nice person but I did not appreciate the continuous surveillance.

   Truly a great experience. The staff are extremely well trained, knowledgeable about the menu and very welcoming and friendly. The menu is excellent and you can’t go wrong with anything. They do a particularly good job with seafood appetizers. We had cocktail shrimp, oysters and fried calamari to start, followed by a small filet and Alaskan halibut. Great cocktails and extensive wine list.

   Front of the house staff were fantastic, our server Victoria was absolutely stellar. Food was out of this world and while we didn't drink much wine, the mixed drinks were perfection. Ambiance and noise levels are excellent! Will go again !

   Loved everything about our experience. The service was spot on. We enjoyed everything we ordered. There were so many other things on the menu that sounded good too.

    Overall decent first experience, upon check in for reservation was quite alot of confusion where they were putting us and a small 10minute delay ... moved tables once as it was freezing by the windows ( winter storm and low heat ) Noice level is fine for restaurant just had some ladies having a fun bday and one of them had a voice that could break glass... lol We had the lam chops and the Braised short rib both meals excellent flavour and quantity just not on the hot side of serving temperature. Crafted cocktails were also decent had a few different ones. Would return or recommend
