The Stirling Dining Room and Lounge is the Malcolm Hotel’s casual dining experience featuring Alberta’s finest local ingredients. In addition to an amazing meal, enjoy a variety of craft beers, in-house prepared cocktails, and one of Canmore’s best wine lists. The dining room provides incredible views of Policeman’s Creek and the surrounding mountains, and the lounge offers comfortable private booths and walls of TVs – a perfect place to cheer on your favorite sports team. Both the dining room and lounge are ideal locations to hang out with friends and family, and enjoy Chef Graham’s culinary creations.

Friday and Saturday evenings, The King’s Table in the Stirling is the fine dining experience at the Malcolm Hotel. Chef Graham and our food and beverage team will host an evening you will not soon forget.

Food and service was beyond expectations… screaming kids was the only downfall of the evening.

Brussel sprout appetizer was great. Nice texture and great flavours. Bison bolognese was delicious. The steak sandwich was tough and smothered in greens which was a bit disappointing.

We visited Saturday afternoon February 1 at lunch time. We sat in dining room and lovely. and, Yes, busy but we ordered another glass of wine and must have waited 10 minutes. Our meal finished and ready to go home before the wine appeared. Could not enjoy with our meal.

We selected the Stirling Lounge to celebrate our 50th Anniversary. We asked for a booth and started off with a drink. Bottles of wine are half price on Wednesdays. The food was delicious and the noise level was much quieter than the Dining side. Our server, Jakob, was spectacular. He was attentive and so cheerful and funny. He brought us a complimentary dessert and even sang “Happy Anniversary” in a beautiful voice. And let the surrounding tables know it was our 50th. Everyone clapped. I have to say he really made the evening even more special by doing that. We will definitely be back.

After experiencing the fantastic Prime rib Sunday buffet we had high hopes for the Pasta night Tuesday thinking it would meet the same high standards…. Unfortunately not. It stated soups, salads, pasta and deserts ….(No soups) the salad, pasta and deserts were just meh/ok…. Won’t be doing it again. Service and surroundings were excellent.

Great ambience and stellar service. We were disappointed that the food was lukewarm. The manager made it right and addressed our concern but it took the shine off of the evening which was the celebration of a family getaway trip.

Service was bad and took a long time to even get our drink order as we were thinking about walking out just before she came to our table! The French onion soup was by far the worst one I’ve ever had. Wouldn’t be returning to this place again.

Understaffed and we had to wait to check in then wait for service, food and drink. I wanted more water but waitress never returned to our table. Staff were ironing table cloths but no one helped us nor others.

The food was good but the service was poor and exceptionally slow. Desert took well over 40 minutes to arrive.
