Voted 'Top 20 best new venues in the UK - The Independent' and located in South Croydon Restaurant Quarter is The Store. This restaurant is housed in a former Sainsbury's building dating back to 1900 - hence the name. We have brought this beautiful building back to its former glory showcasing its breath-taking heritage.

Not quite a bar, not quite a restaurant but an eclectic mix of the two. Brunch is served all day along with dinner and sociable bar snacks in the evening. On Sundays The Store serves its famous roast alongside carefully chosen craft beer, wine and impressive cheese boards to finish.

Allowed me to book a table for a day the restaurant was closed. Got all the way there to find the restaurant shut.

The Store has a very good atmosphere and the drinks are lovely, however all the dishes are substandard. Went with a group of 8 and not a single one of us enjoyed our meals. Meat is over cooked, dishes are not well seasoned. I ordered a steak sandwich and it was literally slices of over cooked, tasteless beef on unbuttered toast with a few leaves thrown in. It was my second time there and I was giving it another chance as the first time I went the food was tasteless but I thought it might’ve been an off day. Great potential and great service but unfortunately the chef has a lot of work to do!

I would not call it 'energetic' as discribed in the previous question- it was very noisey. There was a large party of people taking up the best part of the restaurant. As indicated the food was good as was the service. But were were very lucky to have been seated at all, because Opentable did not pass on our booking, so I'd avoid Opentable if you want to make sure the booking has been acknowledged.

A fabulous building, thoughtfully restored and with a great atmosphere. The staff are amazing - friendly and efficient. The food is great but quite expensive for what it is and the portions aren’t generous, particularly for the price. But it made for a great night out and would definitely go there again.

We went for Cocktails only. The service was pretty good, however, they kept mixing up a cocktail request. We had different versions of the same cocktail. Other than that a friendly bunch of staff. The noise level was just right. The atmosphere was great. I will go again to try the food.

My partner and I visited for Sunday lunch. I had the roast beef and my partner had the pork belly. Both mains were great, really nice food and good service.
