   We arrived unaware that the dining room was under construction. We ate in a warehouse-like environment surrounded by 2x4 framing. Server seemed inexperienced so the timing of ordering, drinks and checking in on us was off and drug out the experience. Meals were fine but not something I’d come back for. Ordered second round of drinks that never came. Has potential but not executed well.

   Our server was also tending the bar, so service was very poor. Our steaks were tough with lots of fat, and almost impossible to chew. The mashed potatoes were also cold. Best part of the meal was the wine and the chocolate tuxedo cake. After going there last Valentine’s Day and having a wonderful experience, this was a big disappointment. We won’t be celebrating the Valentine’s holiday there next year.

   We were seated in the large open room right when you walk in which appeared to be under construction (new stud walls, unfinished). After being seated it took at least 20 minutes to get water after someone in our party when to the front to ask a hostess. Finally got drink orders in which also took another 20 mins to come. We had been there at least an hour before we had any food (appetizers) on the table. When our meals finally came most food was cold, some inedible (braised short rib) and had to be sent back. It was essentially roast beef slices on potatoes when it came. These are plates of food ranged from $20-35 and were completely unacceptable in quality for the price. We were there for just over 2 hours and most everyone else in the large room had left at that point. I expected way better as we have visited for lunch and loved everything. There was clearly a staff shortage and lack of care. This was a birthday dinner so the server offered a togo piece of cake was offered and appreciated. Overall the experience fell flat of expectations.

   I really enjoyed my scrambled grits!! Don’t really eat grits ever, but I said why not? It did not disappoint. It was light yet buttery and cheesy. I will definitely order that again.

   We loved the decor, the ambience, and the piano player. Unfortunately, the service was not great. We had a reservation and were seated right away but then we sat for over 20 minutes and no one came to our table. No water, no greeting or anything. My husband finally went up to the front to ask for a server to take our order and someone came over. No apology for the wait. We ordered everything at once since we had waited so long. Drinks, appetizers and meals. After another long wait our meals were brought out but the appetizer had never come. And my meal had the wrong side dish. When the server went to get my side dish he came back and said it didn’t look good so he could get me something else. And although the piano music was wonderful, we had a laugh over the fact that he played songs like Last Dance with MaryJane and Folsom Prison for Valentine’s Day. We really wanted to like this place but the service needs a lot of work.

   Never got food after waiting an hour! Ordered food and was told that they were out of food completely after waiting an hour for it. Management did apologize, but did not offer anything to consider coming back. Very poor communication, and worst of all it was a reservation on Valentines Day, a waste of time and a ruined date! Will not return

   The food overall was amazing! It took almost 30 min to get our first drink, that’s where it started. Our server was fantastic, I truly don’t believe it was his fault. Took FOREVER to get our food and there weren’t 6 people in the restaurant. Then to top things off, they were out of some items we ordered and we weren’t told until our food came. Too much money for that kind of service.

    Not good. No notice of under construction. One (dirty) menu for couples. Confused at host stand, slow service. Slow refills. Valentine’s Day ruined.
