   A little on the expensive side. Wish there was more freedom over how we were seated and coat section more organised as people were let to take coats themselves which lead to some confusion and a few coats were misplaced. Food was exceptional and overall it was an amazing experience! Service was absolutely outstanding! Would definitely return for another event at this venue!

   It was not my first time here. It has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are warm and laid back. As we had an early reservation we didn’t want to eat much but the staff didn’t mind that we just ordered a few tapas-style dishes. Food was really lovely. So lovely staff, lovely food, lovely evening.

   We’ve been a few times before and this was the first time that we were disappointed - service was slow, order incorrect and just very drafty on a cold night.

   We had a lovely table for four upstairs which is much quieter and we were by the fire. Great atmosphere, delicious food and fabulous service. We will be back - thank you

   We got served raw chicken and had sediments from an old bottle of wine. However service was great

   Dear Karl, we apologise for the undercooked food; this should never happen, and we will make sure to send the comments along to the kitchen to avoid it from happening again. For the bottle of wine, sediment is a very common occurrence in aged wines; however, our server should have poured with greater caution, and we sincerely apologise.

    NYE Dreadful food and music debacle. Important point - at 8ish the 4 piece band were setting up and they were ridiculously loud. The drum was actually painful to listen to and the barman, staff and other patrons were commenting on how loud it was. Taken upstairs to dinner at 8.45 and sat at the worst seats. Underneath and beside the serving station bar were all the plates from the dumbwaiter were placed before service. Next to the sink/taps where my wife was splashed by the water at one point and the phone ringing and the bleep for the dumb waiter. Asked to move and they said will be a table at 9 which they did. Sat down and waited 15 minutes to order. Asked for the wine list and had to ask again. Staters - my steak tartare was good but my wife had the prawns which were unpeeled. Why would you serve prawns covered in black char you need to peel on NYE? Then the band started downstairs so loud the sound was reveberating through my chair and my wife and I had to raise our voices to be heard. Mains arrived. My pithivier was find with the meat being quite dry. My wifes turbot was inedible. The fish had bones in every single mouthful. Mentioned to the waiter who kindly brought another piece. This was even worse. You could see the bones sticking out of the fish and on trying it it was all T bone with no edible fish on it. Then the band stopped playing. Puddings arrived - my eccles cake was unfortunately very hard but the flavour was there. My wife had 3 finger sized churros; 2 were hot and one was cold and the dip was watery. Asked for the bill. No reduction so asked for the service to be removed which they did. Asked why the band had stopped and told that the neighbours had complained and they had had to stop. So no live music after dinner as advertised. It was obvious the music was too loud. Also why weren’t we told as we would have gone home but at 11:30 it would be cutting it very fine. Went downstairs and raised and told it was the first time they were doing this.
