   All great but the steak was not medium/rare it was a little overcooked - but very tasty

   We were a group of 7. Lovely starters all round My main - the Devon chicken - was lovely and the haggis and pie also very good. A couple of the others didn't really enjoy their pork schnitzel. It's not a cheap place but great for a special occasion. I would recommend it. James - our server - was brilliant. At one point my mum had shared some bad news about her health and a couple of us got a bit teary. He happened to come to collect empty plates at that point and quietly left us to it and came back later. Most of the group didn't notice but I did and really appreciated it.

   Good choices on the Lunch menu. We had Devilled Lamb kidneys and Monkfish Scampi for Starters then Aubrey Allen Rump Steak and Devon Chicken for Mains. We didn’t have the special Friday fish and chips, but they looked good. We finished with coffee. Lovely meal in a pleasant setting with attentive, but not intrusive staff.

   Not a bad restaurant, with a very restricted menu, especially if you are a vegetarian.

   Excellent! We came following good experiences at one of your sister restaurants in Birmingham, this did not disappoint. Lovely food and staff.

   The food was lovely. The service was mainly good except that they were clearing plates before everyone had finished. They shouldn't clear until everyone has finished the course. The ambience was ok - a bit pubby - they should have an entrance that isn't through a crowded pub. Overall very good and would go again.

    Another enjoyable evening with friends at one of our favourite hostelries! Unlike so many pub restaurants, this is spacious and not too noisy, and the staff are always welcoming and friendly.
