   The service & the food are wonderful. I had a most enjoyable evening. Advised as to which wine I should have with each course. Would highly recommend.

   Very pleased. Food was very well presented, interesting and tasty. Staff were very efficient and pleasant to deal with. It was a quiet night in January but it felt just right. It is quite expensive but you get what you pay for and I thought it was very good value for money. We will certainly be keen to go back again in the near future.

   We had a lovely meal at the Tollbooth. The restaurant was busy and had a good atmosphere. Despite this we had excellent service from staff.

   Lovely festive menu. Would have preferred vegetables with my beef and felt the three tables for two were close together making it tight to manoeuvre between the tables, I was worried I might knock something off the table.

   Highly recommend the Tolbooth. Went here recently for a date night with my boyfriend. The service and food were amazing. Quality of food compared to price is very good. I had the oysters to start and my partner had the shellfish bisque. For mains we had the blade of beef and I was going to have the hake but with the fish markets being all over the place I opted for the cod which came with the same accompaniments as the hake. The piece of cod and beef we received was a very good portion. Everything was delicious. For desserts we had the salted pecan cookie and the Christmas pudding both were lovely. Good portions good food good service! My only quibble is I wish there was more options for single glasses of Rose. It was nice but a little more choice would be grand. We will be back!

   Absolutely first class food. Every dish and every ingredient tasted wonderful. Special dining experience in Stonehaven that’s a cut above everything else. Chefs took the time to explain dishes when asked. Perfection.

   Welcoming atmosphere. Excellent food and served with care and elegance. Very tasty and in sufficient quantity to enjoy and feel satisfied. Staff attentive and friendly.

    Food was delicious and perfectly cooked. Service was excellent, staff very friendly, and nothing too much trouble. We finished our meal and there was no pressure to leave although we were the last table still there from the lunchtime/afternoon bookings. We will definitely be returning.
