THE VANE ARMS THORPE THEWLES
Located in the beautiful historic village of Thorpe Thewles, just off the A177 between Stockton-on-Tees and Sedgefield, The Vane Arms is a stunning recently-refurbished restaurant offering high quality bistro style dishes with a twist on traditional pub classics.

Our focus is on serving the best available ingredients that our team of highly skilled chefs can transform into show-stopping, delicious dishes that are perfect for both special occasions and casual dining, complemented by a thoughtfully curated wine list and drinks menu.

In the summer months, our beautiful garden offers the option of enjoying your meal outside with fantastic views, and we recently created a private dining space packed with traditional character ideal for parties and celebrations.

We had a delicious meal which was great value for money. Can recommend the soufflé The staff were very pleasant and attentive. We will be back x

We enjoyed the food quality as always but felt very rushed right from the start of our booking. We were meeting up to have a lovely relaxed catch up but after 1 hour 20 we were asked to be ready to vacate the table. We had been constantly asked throughout to pick our food then to pick our pudding. No time for a pause for food to digest. We moved to a table in the cold conservatory to continue our chat and have coffees. The whole meal time felt pressured and rushed. Such a shame as we have booked there on numerous occasions but probably won’t go again. I understand they want to fill places but a time of 2 hours is more appropriate. We hadn’t had a starter luckily otherwise we would still have been eating our mains.

The food is excellent (veg. cooked spot on!) Portion size is really good and well presented. The staff were friendly especially the manager & the place was clean. Only negative would be the speed of service between courses. We waited 25 minutes for our dessert. Always remember: being understaffed might mean more profit but can lack on the quality of service. After being in the catering industry for over 30 years, this is a lesson to learn early.

Really pleased with the quality of the food, and the early bird offer is fantastic value for money. Would strongly recommend.

Arrived early not was not a problem, staff gave us chance to get settled. Came and took drinks order and gave us menu's to look at, orders were taken efficiently. Food arrived altogether all wonderfully plated. Steak was just 👌 perfect. Chips were amazing. Given time in-between main and ordering desert. Desert was amazing . Totally 💯 service and 💯 food we will definitely be returning
