It’s unfortunate that our experience was so bad, because the ambience is generally good. We were a somewhat large party, but they were completely unprepared to serve us. It took 20 or more minutes to get a drink and 90 minutes to get our food. When the food arrived, most of it had been under a heat lamp or just outright cold. Some of the dishes were also overcooked. The portions on the more expensive dishes were quite small.

We had a phenomenal time at this place last winter. So we really looked forward to going back this year. Completely 360 experience. Slow disconnected service and meh food for the prices. They didn’t have many of the menu items we had been looking for. Gave me the wrong bottle of wine. Disappointed to see what was once a treasure turn so quickly. We will try again next year but hoping things improve.

Disappointed after we made a reservation for early dinner however it wasn’t listed as Apres ski only not a dinner. just be aware!

Beautiful location at the base of the resort. Fun to sit and watch the skiers come down. Overall just an ok restaurant in the Josie Hotel. Food in pretty standard but overpriced steaks and burgers. Service is below average as the servers seem only mildly interested in being helpful. Would definitely eat there again if I was staying at the hotel, but there are betters options.

2.5 hour experience, way to long, burger came under cooked, one steak was undercooked. Lobster was mushy in texture. Two meal orders were wrong.

We are regulars and see the changes at the velvet. It was very obviously the, ‘seasonal’ workforce had started. Our server was probably the least friendly, disinterested, heavy handed that we’ve ever had in probably 30 + meals at the Velvet. Plates slammed down on table; hard enough for food to fall off. Take out box thrown from a fair distance onto the table. Complete disinterest in any menu queries or other requests. Generally just pretty bad service and tone. Not the norm at all. Luckily the food is usually pretty damn tasty and was good again.

Cod was good. Wine was good. Seafood pasta was worth maybe $2. Not $36. Very very little seafood, very very bland. Had to walk up to the hostess to get bill as service was painfully slow.
