Perched on the mezzanine of The Connector at Winthrop Center in Downtown Boston, The Vermilion Club is Chef John Fraser’s modern take on a classic chophouse. The space exudes a vibrant energy, making it the ideal destination for all occasions. Named after Dale Chihuly's masterpiece sculpture above our 55-foot bar, The Vermilion Club embodies a design-forward ethos conceptualized by Thomas Juul-Hansen.

Chef Fraser's Mediterranean heritage shines through in the menu, featuring elevated steakhouse classics and Northeastern favorites. Beverage Director Amy Racine unveils an expansive cocktail lineup featuring over 70 meticulously curated cocktails, reintroducing classic cocktails with a contemporary twist. The pastry program is under the expert guidance of Chef Sofia Schlieben, and her large-format Stout Sticky Toffee Cake takes center stage.

    Beautiful restaurant. Great ambiance and decor. The service was outstanding. Our waiter Roma was great and made us feel very welcome. Definitely eat the Parker Roll bread with the pineapple infused butter - we couldn't stop eating eat. We tried several of the menu offerings. The French onion soup dumplings - delicate and delicious, the buttermilk fried calamari - cooked perfectly, crunchy and delicious. Crispy artichokes with a lemon dipping sauce - delicious. Moussaka - vegetarian version - perfectly made, and delicious. The standout of the evening was the Stout Sticky Toffee Cake - it was brought to us by the manager Darien (outstanding personality), who removed the cake from the pan (warm) tableside and ladled the vanilla creme and candied pecans onto each piece. I have to say whoever makes this cake, knows what they are doing. It was by far one of the best desserts I've ever had. Thank you, Roma and Darien for a great evening. We will definitely be back.

    Outstanding food and service. You must have the bone marrow and king crab tagliatelle appetizers. The tuna Niçoise salad is sizable and delicious. I’m eager to go back and try other items!

    Came for an after work Dine Out Boston dinner mostly because of the location. It’s convenient in the middle of downtown, and the restaurant itself is in the large, stunning atrium of the new Winthrop tower. However, we were really impressed with the food and drinks. Despite being a very concrete-forward decor in a large open space, we sat in a nice nook overlooking the street and noise was not an issue.

    We initially booked a reservation for restaurant week. However, after seeing their offerings, we weren’t too crazy about it so we ordered from the regular menu. It was the best decision because everything we got did not disappoint. Our server, Carlos, was very friendly and took great care of us. We’ll be back!

    It took us nearly 20 minutes to order a drink waiting for our server to come back and he explained he didn’t like to rush service, but we explained we were going to an event at 7:30. Bussing staff brought an additional sparkling water we didn’t ask for so if that’s standard to not ask the table it should be a step of service. Other than that the drinks were great, but food was just okay for the price point.
