We thoroughly enjoyed our Prime Rib and Chicken Pear Salad. I requested a Carajillo, and it was delicious. The Parisian dessert, however, was only average.

Service was excellent, as expected from a Fairmont property. Cocktails were excellent and well crafted. Food was rubbish, do not come here expecting more than an Outback Steakhouse meal. The wine list was similarly tuned. Make sure to request a table away from the door as we were subject to a draft the entirety of our meal and the host was unable to move us. Us and the only other couple in the section froze for the duration of our stay (winter jackets on inside).

Hotel is beautiful. We went to vermilion for a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner, but the atmosphere was more energetic rather than romantic. The food was fabulous and delicious! Service was great!

We had our anniversary dinner at the Vermillion Room, on Valentine’s Day. I began with a delicious Aperol cocktail and my husband and I shared the special of the day which was surf and turf and each of us had half a lobster Thermidor, potatoes roasted in duck fat, delectable asparagus and carrots. Our table was a cosy nook inside a separate dining room, beautifully appointed and decorated with blue accents and modern art. It was a quiet and romantic setting. Our server was kind, knowledgeable and attentive. We also were given complimentary parking which capped the evening on a positive note. Parking was $13 an hour and it was minus 20 while I had to download an app in the parking lot wearing an evening gown. I should have done the valet but although I had contacted the restaurant in advance about the parking I got mixed messages from the hotel staff versus the restaurant team. The ambiance and meal was delicious but the service was outstanding.

Server was great but the kitchen was very slow. We waited almost an hour for our main course to arrive and when it did the short rib was lukewarm at best. We did note it to the server who removed the charge from the bill. The prime rib was very tasty as were the potatoes and asparagus. The restaurant was very cold to start and several diners around us commented on it or dawned costs. Eventually the manager was able to adjust the system and it warmed up. We’ve been here for brunch in the past and always enjoyed the experience so while this visit wasn’t great we will likely give it another chance for dinner.

Fabulous service and an excellent buffet. The building too is an experience in and of itself. Amazing place.
