We all loved this restaurant. The outdoor patio was perfect, mostly shady with light music so we could hear each other talking. All of the staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent, and our waitress made sure we knew they were happy to make substitutions for those of us that did not like certain ingredients.
There were supposed to be 9 of us and made an advance reservation on Open Table which required putting a credit card on file in case we canceled. We ended up only being 7 people which seemed to be fine with the Vig.
The only con was that the food did take a while to come to our table, which we mostly did not notice as we were having a great time socializing. They did apologize for this without us mentioning it.
Parking can be difficult to find as they do not have any, there are some parking garages within a block, and I found a place (parallel parking) on the street with a meter which took credit card or coins - be sure to have plenty of quarters.

We very much enjoyed our dinner at The Vig - Fillmore. Service and food was exceptional. We will be back!

The food the restaurant everything was great. The waiter was a little off, probably just for the night, so nothing against him. We just didn’t get much of the things that we asked for.

Arrived 2 hours before a show we were catching down the street. The place is lovely, great location by the Van Buren! We sat on the patio, not too busy, loud or cold on a Tuesday. Good looking menu. We started with very tasty cocktails and an appetizer. Everything started out well! The site said our reservation for two people would only be 1.5 hours which was perfect so we could catch our show.
Unfortunately, the service was dismal! We had to ask for water and a pitcher of it to serve ourselves, like other tables had. Everything took FOREVER, and our server was nowhere to be seen (maybe working inside?). 45 minutes in, we still hadn’t gotten to order our entrees or a second drink. 1 and 1/2 hours later, we FINALLY got our food. All that waiting, and my salmon tasted like had been thrown in the deep fat fryer rather than “grilled medium.” We didn’t even get to finish eating because we had to leave.

Really a disappointment after starting out so well. The service killed our whole experience, and to be honest, was a huge detriment to the restaurant itself. If we had received proper timely service, we would have probably increased our bill another $50-$100 on more cocktails and even dessert. Oh well, maybe we’ll try again before another show and get a better experience.

It was a great experience the Steak Frites were excellent and the cauliflower. Calamari was good. Great service. Leo was attentive and fun.
