   Nice place for diner. Food is ok, but nothing exceptional. prices are ok for this part ot London. Nothing wrong to say. Staff friendly and pro.

   We have enjoyed the new Walmer Castle many times since it reopened. But the service this evening was atrocious. We waited 25 minutes for water, and only received it once we begged. We placed our order quickly once the server finally made time for us, and then waited another thirty minutes for food. Our server was indifferent and rude, not appropriate at all. We will never return.

   Quintessential English pub, with an absolute upgrade in food, wine, and ambience. Dine there on a Sunday evening, and make sure to go to the second floor, and request to be seated by the fire. The Sunday roast is off the charts, and the Guinness is cold and smooth. A must dining experience in one of the most iconic neighborhoods and Burroughs of London.

   We ate at the restaurant upstairs, great ambiance. Unfortunately, we had a little awkward situation with a server who overcharged us with drinks and didn’t want to adjust the bill. Reluctantly, he finally agreed to take off the extra charges but made it clear he wasn’t happy. Otherwise, food is good, nice and cosy feel for a local pub

   Fabulous food, only issue, which is a recurring problem in London since Brexit, is that service is now delivered by people who have no idea about drinks and do not have the right motivation nor background to do this job, thankfully the head waiter still has a clue about what service is . Great food, great menu , but like anywhere else in london be ready for below par service . Not that it matters too much but helps when people with a minimum savoir vivre and education look after you .
